N7 Day 2020 is right around the corner, and hopefully with it, some confirmation that the Mass Effect Remastered Trilogy is more than an idea just being passed around in social circles. The latest rumors indicate that the Mass Effect Remastered Trilogy may have received some delay, going from a 2020 release to a 2021 release. As long as it's legit, many will likely be happy, but November 7 will likely be a determining factor in how much stock these rumors hold.

In simple terms, this benefit could be boiled down into a three major improvements. The overarching story of Mass Effect won't change, but it will look better. According to rumors, Mass Effect 1's age is one of the reasons for the delay in order to update its mechanics, but the game also wears its age on its sleeve. While characters like Garrus, Ashley, and more are iconic with the game, improving their character models and graphics are likely a big factor of the remaster. As such, fans will be over to drool over and romance their favorites with better visuals, which is a huge selling factor for it.

The character stories are also likely to be better told, at least in one way. Due to cuts in the franchise, there are several moments like Mass Effect 2's dossiers. These were meant to be given all at once, allowing for a more unique story per each playthrough but also further letting players get their favorite companions sooner (or first). As such, it'll improve the characters in a way that makes them more accessible in the game.

Finally, there's the Mass Effect trilogy's cut content at large. Not everything will be restored, but there's a good chance that some will be. Interestingly enough, this mostly applies to the companions of the franchise, as Ashley Williams has cut content that explores her faith, there's context around Javik that gets skipped over, and a variety of conversations that didn't make it into a game, such as one between Mordin and Grunt. With these three things in mind, if even a few of these changes manifest in the next game, the Mass Effect Trilogy's companions could look better, have more to them, and show more developed relationships with others than ever before.
