Collecting all the suits in Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is one of the most addicting elements of the game, with each one having its own gameplay requirements in order to unlock. The game has decades of Spider-Man media to pull from, meaning that there are many suits from years gone by that many fans of the franchise may never have even seen before. This is actually amazing for fans, as it almost serves as something of a history lesson about the previous suits featured across various Spider-Man stories. Some classic suits are missing from the game, but overall, Insomniac Games has done a solid job of ensuring there's something here for everyone.
Redditor QuboidYT noticed the strange detail about the Superior Spider-Man suit, pointing out that in the in-game menus, he is the only one looking directly at the player through the camera. This is strange, and normally could be put down to a mistake. However, another user in the thread pointed out that if players get the Superior Spider Bot while playing as Miles, he'll often comment something along the lines of, "It's like he's staring at me." Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is filled with awesome details, and it seems as though this one is completely intentional.

On top of this, some theorized that the reason he's staring into the camera is that it isn't actually Peter Parker. Superior Spider-Man is a run of comics between 2013 and 2014 in which Peter is killed and replaced by his nemesis, with Doc Ock taking up the mantle of Spider-Man while wearing the Superior suit. It's possible that the in-game portrait is actually Doc Ock staring back at the player instead. Others in the thread refuted this, pointing out that other Marvel's Spider-Man 2 suits, such as Spider-Man 2099, Scarlet Spider, and Spider-Punk are worn by characters that are also not Peter Parker (Miguel O'Hara, Ben Reilly, and Hobie Brown, respectively).
Thanks to the enormous Insomniac Games leak late in 2023, it's clear that plans for future games in Marvel's Spider-Man series are well underway. In a way, it's a relief to know for sure that one of the best series of the last few years is here to stay for some time yet. On the other hand, it remains a massive shame that these plans were revealed like this, rather than how the studio originally intended. In the meantime, fans can only hope that sny future Marvel's Spider-Man 2 DLC brings more cool suits with interesting secrets of their own.
