Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Release Date May Have Been Leaked by Dev

Originally discovered by Spider-Man News on Twitter and later reported by Insider Gaming, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will apparently launch in the Fall of 2023 on PS5. A writer working at Insomniac Games updated their personal website to confirm a Fall 2023 date for Marvel's Spider-Man 2. The website has since been updated to simply say 2023, and Sony is yet to confirm a launch window for the game.

As with every rumor or leak of a similar nature, fans should take this news with a grain of salt and wait for official confirmation about the game's launch date from Sony and Insomniac Games. Still, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is currently scheduled to launch sometime in 2023, and many AAA games do release in the Fall season. Players should also note that while Insomniac Games reiterated a 2023 release for Marvel's Spider-Man 2, video games are often subject to delays.

Coincidently, the store page for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 briefly went live on the PlayStation Store before getting taken down. Some fans were also able to add the game to their wish lists, but it didn’t feature any previously unknown information. The relative proximity of these incidents may hint at a release date being revealed fairly soon.

A new trailer for Marvel's Spider-Man 2 would have probably been featured at a PlayStation Showcase event, but Sony didn’t host one in 2022. Insomniac Games may instead reveal Marvel's Spider-Man 2’s gameplay at a special State of Play presentation. Games like Gran Turismo 7 and Horizon Forbidden West received individual State of Play events, so it presents a good opportunity for the development team to showcase all of the game's new features.
