Thanks to its live service nature, many Marvel's Avengers fans continue to explore the action-packed levels as new versions of their favorite characters, and a free Iron Man suit is set to drop. Given that Iron Man has been a Marvel hero since 1963, the character has undergone a few redesigns, and one of the missing suits is coming to Marvel's Avengers soon.Since Marvel's Avengers was released, there have been a plethora of cosmetic options to choose from, while the in-game shop has received even more over time. Although many of the shop options cost Marvel's Avengers players money, Crystal Dynamics also adds the occasional free skin to the game, which is gifted through a pop notification. With the last Marvel's Avengers skins focusing on the Avengers 1,000,000 lineup, Crystal Dynamics is seemingly releasing the last major cosmetics before support for the game concludes. The Marvel's Avengers Twitter account recently shared a brief video showing the Iron Man Hulkbuster smashing down on the ground to reveal the much smaller suit within. The Marvel's Avengers clip quickly proceeds to reveal the latest Iron Man skin which swaps the red and gold for black and silver with a shoulder-mounted gun in what slightly resembles a different Marvel hero. The video shows the new Marvel's Avengers Iron Man skin firing beams from mounted hand canons, while its shoulder weapon shoots the rockets that would normally come from the Marvel hero's arms like his standard ability.
This Iron Man suit is set to be added to Marvel's Avengers later this week when patch 2.8 is released, and War Machine fans may wish to come back to the game given how uncanny it is to the character's usual design. According to Crystal Dynamics, the free skin is a reward to Marvel's Avengers players that have stuck with the action-adventure title from launch until the news of ending support for the game. Given that Crystal Dynamics is set to stop supporting Marvel's Avengers in the near future and reward the player base with all the content for free, some die-hard players may wish to unlock the new Iron Man suit the day that update 2.8 drops rather than when everything becomes available.
Because the new Iron Man suit resembles the important cinematic universe character War Machine, some fans have speculated that the free cosmetic is evidence that the Don Cheadle character was initially planned to be part of the game. It's currently unclear just how many cosmetics Crystal Dynamics intends to add before Marvel's Avengers support ends, but there may still be a few occasions worth logging in for before the inevitable September 30 date.
Marvel's Avengers is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
