The sovereign of Wakanda was a popular character, but her death doesn't guarantee that she won't return in the future.

Black Panther 3 is believed to be in the works, although Marvel Studios has not officially announced it. Fans will head into that movie not expecting to see Ramonda after she was killed during a battle with Namor and his Talokan army. It was a bitterly upsetting scene, with Shuri's reaction only adding to it, and is a moment that seemingly ended Ramonda's story in the franchise. But Bassett has refused to rule out a return to Wakanda during an appearance on Good Morning America.

“That would be wonderful,” Bassett said. She later then spoke about the possibility of her character appearing in Black Panther 3 in a scene involving the Ancestral Plane. She said, “I could be there. You know? It could happen. I would, absolutely.”

If Bassett were to return to the franchise for Black Panther 3, then Marvel would have to work out a creative loophole to make it happen. However, it's something that fans would guarantee to love, as her character can still offer a lot to this world. Bringing people back from the dead wouldn't be new for the Black Panther franchise, as Michael B. Jordan appeared in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. He also returned via the Ancestral Pane, which Bassett has spoken about for her character. This is a different dimension where afterlife planes exist, sometimes allowing people to appear.

Bassett provided a powerful performance in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which carried a lot of emotional weight for the movie. That's something that she was rewarded with by receiving an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. It was a rare nomination for an actor in a superhero movie, but it highlighted the brilliance of what she delivered and how it connected with people. This is why a lot of Marvel fans would like to see her make a return at some stage, even if it's only in a limited capacity.

Bringing Bassett back to the franchise would be a fun move and a great nod toward the past, helping to connect Black Panther 3 with the previous two films and continuing to grow the franchise seamlessly. However, seeing her pass on some advice to a different character, such as Shuri, would create a powerful moment within Black Panther 3, and the fact that Bassett is openly interested in appearing in the movie will only increase fan interest in Marvel making it happen.
