- Surtur is the primary win condition. You can buff him to 17 or higher Power.

How to Play Surtur
When playing Surtur, keep these notes in mind:
- Cards that reach ten Power after resolving can trigger Surtur, so cards like Black Panther or Venom can grant him the +3 buff.
- You can trigger Surtur with Hulkbuster. If you play Hulkbuster on a ten-Power card or use Hulkbuster to buff a card to ten Power, Surtur will gain another +3 buff—even if the merging card has already buffed him once.
- Surtur is prone to many tech cards. You need to have protective cards like Armor and Cosmo to play Surtur safely. Otherwise, he is pretty easy to counter.
How to Counter Surtur
Surtur’s archenemy in Marvel Snap is Shadow King because he can instantly remove his buffs. However, since Surtur prompts a risky strategy with multiple big cards on the board, you can also counter him with Shang-Chi.
A cheeky response to Surtur decks could be a Mobius M. Mobius and Cassandra Nova duo. Mobius would interrupt the opponent’s cost-reduction attempts—which is critical in most Surtur decks—and Cassandra would turn most of the opponent’s 10-Powers into 9-Powers, which can ruin the entire strategy of Surtur.
