While Misery has a solid synergy within the mill archetype, she performs best in a Thanos deck. This is because she can double the effect of Thanos’ stones while also clearing them from the board, allowing for the play of more powerful cards. The goal of a mill deck is to limit your opponent’s draws and manipulate their hand as much as possible. If you choose this strategy, ensure you include Knull as your win condition, as he synergizes well with the mill archetype.
If no On Reveal cards are in the lane, Misery won’t destroy anything. Additionally, if cards like Armor are present, Misery can only retrigger other cards’ abilities without destroying them.
How to Counter Misery
A combination of Armor and Cosmo can effectively nullify Misery. However, since most Misery decks benefit from buff options like Knull, countering her with Shadow King is also a smart choice. He can reset any buffed card’s stats, minimizing Misery’s impact on the board.
Is Misery Worth It?
Misery’s performance has exceeded expectations, but she remains a skippable card, as she is primarily a niche option for destroy or mill decks. If resources aren’t a concern, you can consider Misery as a cheaper alternative to Odin for On Reveal-heavy decks that benefit from destruction or disruption. However, if you're low on resources, it’s advisable to focus on more practical cards that are set to be released.
