Miek is a one-Cost, one-Power Series Four discard card with the ability to gain +1 Power for each discard and move to another location at the end of the round. He was added to the expansive roster of Marvel Snap during the Planet Hulk Season in January, and players could unlock him through Spotlight Caches or by spending 3,000 Tokens at the shop. This guide provides insights into crafting the best deck for Miek and harnessing the advantages of his distinctive discard-benefiting effect.

The Best Deck for Miek

marvel-snap-miek-best-deck-cards

As a discard archetype card, Miek works best in a Modok-Apocalypse deck. To assemble the ideal team, pair Miek with other discard options such as Blade, Gambit, Modok, Colleen Wing, Black Cat, Lady Sif, and Sword Master. Complete the lineup with win-conditions that benefit from discards, including Morbius, Daken, and, naturally, Apocalypse.

How to Play Miek

Ideally, Miek should hit the board before you start discarding your hand. This is the only way to guarantee that he’ll gain a reliable Power buff. Keep in mind that Miek’s effect triggers at the end of each round. If you discard a card in the final round, it won’t impact Miek. To maximize his buff, focus on boosting him until round five—or six if there’s an extra turn.

Here are some combos for Miek:

  • Discard Swarm and play Modok. Swarm will give you two additional copies, and Modok will discard your entire hand. Using this combo while Miek is on the board could give you +7 Power.
  • Discard Daken’s Muramasa Shard to double his Power while boosting Miek.
  • Try hitting Apocalypse with Lady Sif to give him +4 Power while boosting Miek’s Power by one.

How to Counter Miek

killmonger cards

Since Miek is a one-Cost card, his best counter is Killmonger. But for a more strategic counterplay, you can also drop Kravan on the board—so he earns a passive buff from Miek’s movement. Including Stature in the deck is another viable option, as her Cost drops each time your opponent discards a card to boost Miek.

Is Miek Worth It?

Miek is worth it only if you play the discard archetype a lot. He is not a flexible character for other decks, and his niche use makes him a risky purchase for average players. However, since the upcoming cards—Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight—are also discard options, you can get Miek as an early investment for the archetype.
