Keep Luke Cage hidden. Use cards like Invisible Woman or Malekith to conceal him, catching your opponent off guard with his final-turn effect.
Use friendly cards to buff Ajax. If the enemy cards are protected, Hazmat can help by affecting your own side. This can make Ajax strong enough to secure another location—assuming you've already taken control of one.

How to Counter Laufey

Luke Cage is the best counter to Laufey, as he negates the negative Power effects Laufey applies—though he won't weaken Laufey himself. To directly counter Laufey, Shadow King is the ideal choice, as he resets all cards' Power to their base values. Cosmo can also shut down Laufey's effect, but timing is crucial since he must be played before Laufey is revealed.

Is Laufey a Good Card?

Among the three new cards in Sanctum Showdown, Laufey stands out as the strongest. His synergy with affliction cards is exceptionally high, especially with the rising popularity of the archetype following Diamondback's introduction.

That said, Laufey can limit deck flexibility. His ability requires support from cards like Ajax or Luke Cage, forcing you into a specific deck structure. This is something to consider before committing to him.
