Upon reaching Collection Level 1,006 in Marvel Snap, Collector's Reserves become the primary way by which players obtain new cards, cosmetics, and currencies. While some fans may believe that these items are awarded in a totally-random fashion, that is actually not the case. Indeed, Collector's Reserves in Marvel Snap are informed by some very specific probabilities and patterns, and this guide is here to provide details on exactly how they work.

Marvel Snap: Collector's Reserves Explained

It is first important to establish that there are four different types of Collector's Reserves in Marvel Snap: those that award cards, those that award cosmetics, those that award currency, and those that award Collector's Tokens. Furthermore, every set of four Collector's Reserves that a player opens will be composed of one of each of those types. This means that players will obtain one new card, one new cosmetic, some currency, and some Collector's Tokens every 48 Collection Levels.

Additionally, players can have some more specific expectations about what they will pull from each type of Collector's Reserve, as there is math behind them. To start with the card-awarding Collector's Reserves, nine out of 10 that are opened will grant a card from Marvel Snap's Pool 3 and one out of 10 will grant a card from Pool 4. As such, players can expect to receive nine Pool 3 cards and one Pool 4 for every 40 Collector's Reserves that they open.

That said, there is a caveat to this expectation, and it is created by the ultra-rare Pool 5 cards. More specifically, there is an approximately 1% chance that a Collector's Reserve that would award a Pool 3 card will instead award a Pool 5 card. This means that players should expect to earn one Pool 5 card in Marvel Snap for every ~440 Collector's Reserves that they open.

One final thing to mention is that Collector's Reserves that award Pool 3 cards begin awarding 400 Collector's Tokens each once a player has earned every card from that set. This will make it much easier to accumulate enough currency to buy Pool 4 and 5 cards from Marvel Snap's Token Shop, and the aforementioned ~1% chance to open a Pool 5 card remains.

With details on card-awarding Collector's Reserves thoroughly established, some information on the other three types may be pertinent. The simplest are those that award Collector's Tokens, as each one contains 100 of them. The currency-awarding Collector's Reserves, on the other hand, have a 40% chance to award 300 Credits, a 20% chance to award 400 Credits, and 40% chance to award 200 Gold in Marvel Snap. The cosmetic-awarding Collector's Reserves take a similar approach, having a 40% chance to grant a variant, a 30% chance to grant a title, and a 30% chance to grant an avatar.

For those players that find this all a bit overwhelming, a simplified breakdown may be helpful. Here is such a breakdown, which indicates what players should expect to earn, on average, every time that they open 40 Collector's Reserves:

  • 9 Pool 3 Cards (Chance that one is replaced with a Pool 5 Card)
  • 1 Pool 4 Card
  • 1,000 Collector's Tokens
  • 1,200 Credits
  • 800 Gold
  • 4 Card Variants
  • 3 Titles
  • 3 Avatars
