A slate of new team-up abilities has been unveiled for Marvel Rivals ahead of the game's highly anticipated Season 2 update. Players will soon be able to join forces and work together in brand-new ways, with Psylocke and Magneto joining together, as well as Captain America and the Winter Soldier, among others. All this and more will be part of Marvel Rivals' Season 2 update, which arrives later this month.
Marvel Rivals quickly carved out a spot for itself within the hero shooter genre, becoming one of the most popular and talked-about video games in recent memory. The fact the game is free to play certainly helps, though Marvel Rivals' roster is where it truly shines. Filled to the brim with both iconic and obscure Marvel characters, Marvel Rivals offers players a daunting number of characters to pick and choose from, each with their own abilities. What's more, certain characters can team up for even more powerful abilities, something developers are tweaking for Season 2.
Marvel Rivals Adds Harsher Penalties For Leaving Matches
Marvel Rivals may be putting in some stronger penalties for players who abandon matches, aiming for an improved ranked system.
Marvel Rivals has revealed a slate of new team-up abilities ahead of Season 2, and they are quite interesting. The first one sees some of Marvel Rivals' most powerful characters, like Doctor Strange and Scarlet Witch, join together for "Arcane Order," which grants Strange a bonus health increase of 100. Scarlet Witch unlocks a magical new Mystic Burst ability during the team-up. "Stars Aligned," another new team-up, with Captain America receiving a health bonus of 100 as well as a 5% boost in damage output while Winter Soldier gains a new Stellar Impact ability.
Marvel Rivals Reveals New Team-Up Abilities
The last new team-up ability is a little more interesting, as it includes a total of three characters. Emma Frost, the newest character confirmed to join Marvel Rivals, can team up with either Magneto or Psylocke for a new ability called "Mental Projection." During this team-up, Emma Frost gains a health bonus of 100, with Magneto getting a new Magnetic Resurgence ability. Psylocke players will receive the Soul Resurgence ability while teaming up with Emma Frost.
Alongside new team-up abilities, changes are being made to previous partnerships already in Marvel Rivals. "Ammo Overload," a team-up between Rocket Racoon and Winter Soldier, has been modified so that Winter Soldier loses his Infinite Grit ability. Namor loses his Frozen Spawn ability when he teams up with Luna Snow. All these changes and more come as part of Season 2 of Marvel Rivals, which looks to be another promising update for the game. Season 2 of Marvel Rivals drops on April 11.
