Marvel Rivals has announced that it will be releasing its major mid-season 2.5 update on May 30, which will add the villain Ultron to the popular hero shooter's ever-expanding roster. NetEase Games recently added the Vanguard Emma Frost to Marvel Rivals, and many fans have enjoyed dominating the battlefield with her tank-driven abilities.

Before the new update launches on May 30, players will have the opportunity to wrap up Marvel Rivals' Galacta's Gift event and its Hellfire Gala Moments event. Galacta's Gift was launched to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the game's Closed Alpha, which was the first time the public was able to get their hands on the hero shooter. By completing three matches once per day, gamers have the opportunity to claim new rewards like Chrono Shield Cards, sprays, and even a Costume Coin. Meanwhile, the Hellfire Gala Moments event was extended by one week, giving fans more time to claim a free skin for Wolverine.

NetEase Games has released a new Dev Vision video, which goes over what players can expect to see with the launch of Marvel Rivals' major 2.5 update. First and foremost, players will soon be able to play as the villain Ultron in Marvel Rivals. While the developers didn't go over the character's full ability kit, they did confirm that he will be a flying Strategist, allowing him to heal his allies while dishing out significant amounts of damage to his foes. Ultron will also have a team-up ability with the hero Iron Man, which will allow him to use a version of the Duelist's Uni-Beam. Ultron's version of the ability will fire a beam from his hand that will heal any allies and damage any foes in its path.

Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 Update Releases May 30

The developers also went over numerous balance changes and more new team-up abilities that will be coming to the game. For instance, it seems like Marvel Rivals' Doctor Strange will be receiving a modest buff, though the exact details haven't been released. Meanwhile, Jeff the Land Shark and Venom will be getting a fresh team-up ability that allows the Strategist to use symbiote tendrils to heal nearby allies. Jeff the Land Shark will also be receiving a new team-up with Storm, allowing the two heroes to combine their ultimate abilities.

While the Krakoa map was added to Marvel Rivals at the beginning of Season 2, players will now have the ability to fight on the Arakko map. According to the developers, Arakko has been transformed into a lifeless machine-driven world by Ultron, which will give the map a unique look and feel. With so much content to enjoy and even more on the way, many fans are feeling optimistic about the future of Marvel Rivals.
