  • Marvel Rivals players want NetEase Games to adjust how Quick Play losses are counted when joining late.
  • One player shared a video in which they joined a Quick Play match so late that they couldn't even pick a hero, but because they ended up on the losing team, the match was counted as a loss in their stats.
  • Some players don't think this is a huge issue, but others agree that it feels unfair.

Marvel Rivals players are asking NetEase Games to change the way Quick Play losses are counted when joining a match late. With the launch of Season 1: Eternal Night Falls, Marvel Rivals has added its first new heroes, Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman. Players looking to get their hands on Human Torch and The Thing won't have to wait long, as it's expected the heroes will be released in a mid-season update.

Quick Play is one of Marvel Rivals' core modes in which two teams of six players face off against one another to complete objectives. Many players consider Quick Play to be a casual mode, while Competitive has higher stakes, with players ranking up as they accrue more wins. Gamers who achieve higher ranks in Competitive are also given free rewards, such as a skin for Invisible Woman in Marvel Rivals. Fans aren't given any specific rewards for engaging with Quick Play, but some people use the mode as a low-stakes way to learn new heroes or complete challenges.

In a recent post on Reddit, Crazy-Nose-4289 shared a video in which they joined a Quick Play match so late that they couldn't even pick a hero before it ended. Unfortunately, the player joined the losing side at the last moment, and the match was counted as a loss in their stats. Some fans commented that the gamer earned a free 400 XP, while also noting that experience doesn't help players level up the battle pass in Marvel Rivals. Many found the humor in the predicament, stating that wins and losses don't count for much in Quick Play, unlike Competitive. Others empathized with the player, acknowledging that the marked loss feels unfair.

Marvel Rivals Players Dislike Joining a Match in Its Final Moments

Gamers were split on how NetEase Games could solve the issue without compromising Quick Play as a casual mode. In Marvel Rivals' Competitive mode, new players are unable to join a match once it has begun. So, if a player drops, the team will be permanently down a player, or the match will end prematurely. In contrast, Quick Play constantly tries to fill a spot once a player has left. This leads to situations in which someone might join at the tail end of a losing battle. Some players suggested that nobody should be allowed to join a game in its final moments, though others noted that it can be hard to tell how long a match may last if it goes into overtime.

While many gamers are content with the current state of the popular hero shooter, some fans feel NetEase Games should work on balancing the roster more. A large portion of the community seems to believe that Moon Knight has become overpowered in Marvel Rivals, suggesting that the developer should release a hotfix to nerf the hero's ultimate ability. Despite a few balancing issues with the current roster, many fans are looking forward to the addition of Human Torch and The Thing later in Season 1.
