Summary

  • Marvel Rivals players want Magneto's Iron Volley to not require reloading for increased damage.
  • Other suggestions include preventing Magneto's Meteor M overload and unique character reload mechanics.
  • NetEase Games may consider player suggestions for Magneto, Groot, and other character improvements.

In a recent online discussion, Marvel Rivals players suggested that Magneto should not have to reload his Iron Volley ability due to the attack's slow rate of fire. Marvel Rivals is currently nearing the middle of Season 1: Eternal Night Falls, which has introduced Mister Fantastic and Invisible Woman to the popular hero shooter. NetEase Games has stated that players can expect to see Human Torch and The Thing make their debut in a large mid-season update.

Magneto is a Vanguard in Marvel Rivals, meaning his primary goal is to utilize his large health pool and various abilities to protect his teammates while dishing out damage on the front line. In order to help him do this, the mutant has the ability to cast a defensive barrier in front of him called Metallic Curtain, which blocks all incoming projectiles. He can also place a bubble on himself or an ally, which helps to mitigate incoming damage.

In a recent post on Reddit, FuriousPenguino suggested that Marvel Rivals' Magneto should not have to reload his primary ability, Iron Volley. This attack fires a series of magnetic orbs forward and deals damage based on the player's distance from the target. The redditor stated that the hero's variable damage and slow attack speed result in him dealing a disappointing amount of damage when compared to characters like Mister Fantastic. They believe eliminating Magneto's need to reload would help increase his damage while offsetting his slow rate of fire.

Marvel Rivals Players Want to Eliminate Magneto’s Reload

Many gamers agree with FuriousPenguino, and pointed out other instances where a character's reload seemed silly to them. While some players recognized that a hero like Punisher would need to reload his weapons from a practical standpoint, they also said that Groot reloading his tree limbs or Storm reloading her air abilities feels odd. One person even pointed out that Marvel Rivals' Scarlet Witch never reloads her magical primary attack, while Doctor Strange does. Despite the odd nature of seeing a character like Groot reload their arms, these moments are likely a result of NetEase Games trying to balance the damage and attack speed of characters who may prove to be too powerful otherwise.

This isn't the first time fans have asked the developers to buff Magneto in Marvel Rivals, as some people recently criticized the hero's ultimate, Meteor M. During the attack, the mutant has the ability to suck up nearby projectiles, which can act as a powerful counter on the battlefield. Unfortunately, Meteor M can overload, which results in Magneto dealing absolutely no damage with his ultimate. Some players feel the attack shouldn't be able to overload, and should instead soak up more projectiles or automatically launch when it has reached its limit. There's no way of knowing how NetEase Games might respond to the requests of its community, but many gamers are hopeful that Magneto will receive some kind of boost in the future.
