According to a new leak, the next Marvel Rivals character could be none other than Captain America. NetEase and Marvel Games have been slowly revealing the roster for the upcoming 6v6 multiplayer title, which is currently in the middle of a closed beta test. During this time, a select group of gamers has been trying out Marvel Rivals' wide assortment of playable heroes and villains, which contains the usual heavy hitters like Hulk and Spider-Man, alongside more obscure figures like Luna Snow and Jeff the Land Shark.
The latter example was recently revealed during the recent San Diego Comic-Con 2024 alongside Thor. As of this writing, Marvel Rivals has 23 confirmed playable characters, with plenty of rumors about who could be added next being spread across the internet. Shortly after the aforementioned closed beta test began, Marvel Rivals players noticed clues pointing to Deadpool and Spider-Gwen being brought into the game’s already star-studded roster.

Meanwhile, a Reddit user by the handle of BucketHerro recently shared what seems to be a leaked promotional image on r/marvelrivals - one that shows Captain America alongside already-confirmed Marvel Rivals characters Storm and Thor. Steve Rogers is sporting an armored outfit similar to the Marvel Rivals versions of Magneto and Iron Man, with a glowing blue light on his hand that some Reddit users think could be used to recall his iconic shield after it’s thrown in battle. Some other leakers are claiming that this version of Cap is from the year 2099, which has served as the setting for some of the game’s stages, and he is rumored to be a Vanguard per other leaks online.
Marvel Rivals Could Be Adding Captain America
Captain America needs no introduction for comic book fans, and the star-spangled sentinel has been fighting for liberty and justice for all in Marvel video games since the late 1980s. Some of his latest console-based outings include Marvel’s Midnight Suns and the now-defunct Marvel’s Avengers, and he will soon team up with the Azzuri version of Black Panther on the battlefield of World War 2 in the upcoming Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra.
