Besides adding new characters, maps, and modes to the game with each major update, Marvel Rivals has kept its players engaged by regularly dropping new skins for its playable heroes and villains. With a wide array of skins based on characters' comic costumes and live-action appearances, players are able to equip their favorite characters with iconic outfits that make them stand apart on the battlefield. While Marvel Rivals does make many of its skins free to obtain through events, the majority of the game's most desirable skins end up in the in-game shop.

After the recent addition of Moon Knight's Phoenix Knight skin and Iron Fist's Binary Fist skin, the next outfits set to arrive in Marvel Rivals' shop are Thor's Majestic Raiment skin and Punisher's Daredevil: Born Again skin. This update is a big deal, as it not only brings new outfits for Thor and Punisher — two characters who are short on cosmetics compared to others — but it is also Marvel Rivals' first acknowledgment of the MCU's Netflix/Disney+ Daredevil saga. While this new Punisher skin is exciting news for the Marvel Rivals community, it also highlights a glaring omission within the game.

Marvel Rivals: Best Team Comps in Season 2.5

If you're wondering about the strongest team comps to run in Marvel Rivals Season 2.5, this guide has you covered.

Daredevil's Noticeable Absence From Marvel Rivals

Much like when Marvel Rivals gave Wolverine a Deadpool & Wolverine skin before ever adding Deadpool to the game, the addition of Punisher's Daredevil: Born Again skin begs a simple yet pressing question: where is Daredevil? Marvel Rivals already features some of New York's most popular street-level heroes from the Marvel universe, like Spider-Man, Cloak & Dagger, Moon Knight, and the Punisher. But Daredevil — one of Marvel's most established street-level characters — is still absent from the game's roster.

Ever since Marvel Rivals first released last December, Daredevil has been one of the most heavily requested characters from the game's playerbase. The character was already a fan favorite, but his popularity boomed after Marvel Studios officially merged the Netflix Daredevil universe with the mainline MCU. The character has since appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home and She-Hulk: Attorney at Law before returning in his own series, Daredevil: Born Again. The MCU still seems to have big plans for Daredevil with a second season of Born Again on the way that will seemingly tie into Spider-Man: Brand New Day now that Jon Bernthal has reportedly been cast in the film.

What Daredevil's Role and Cosmetics in Marvel Rivals Could Look Like

Now that Marvel Rivals is officially crossing over with Daredevil: Born Again, fan demand for Daredevil to be added as a character in the game is sure to increase even more. Daredevil would likely be a great fit for Marvel Rivals' Duelist class alongside characters like Moon Knight and the Punisher thanks to his agility and martial arts skills. He would also open the door for even more MCU outfits to enter the game. His original prototype suit from the Netflix series, the gold and red suit from She-Hulk, his current red suit from Born Again, and the leaked black suit from Born Again season 2 could all be easily translated into Marvel Rivals skins should his character join the game.

When to Expect Marvel Rivals' Upcoming Daredevil: Born Again Collab

While the wait for Daredevil continues, the Punisher's Daredevil: Born Again skin will arrive in Marvel Rivals on June 27 at 10 PM ET. The skin's rarity and price are still unknown. As with most store skins, this Punisher outfit will likely come in a bundle that includes a nameplate, a spray, an emote, and a unique MVP screen animation.
