Like most superhero teams that have been around since the early 1960s, the Avengers has seen more than its fair share of roster changes and spinoff groups over the decades. That being said, there are a handful of team members who have become synonymous with the Avengers name, and Marvel Rivals is home to quite a few.

33 characters strong, Marvel Rivals' roster draws inspiration from all corners of the Marvel universe, and that, of course, includes the Avengers. Captain America, Iron Man, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye, and Hulk are all present in Marvel Rivals, right alongside Avengers offshoot members like Spider-Man, Wolverine, Squirrel Girl, and even Jeff the Land Shark. But there are still a handful of iconic Avengers members who deserve a spot on Marvel Rivals' roster.

Every Major Member of the Avengers That Still Needs to Come to Marvel Rivals

Ant-Man and Wasp

When the Avengers debuted in 1963, it featured five founding members. Iron Man, Hulk, and Thor are all already in Marvel Rivals, meaning that the only two founding members left off the launch-day roster are Ant-Man and Wasp. Two heroes that can use Pym Particles to shrink and enlarge themselves, Ant-Man and Wasp would be great additions to Marvel Rivals' line-up.

To keep their moveset distinct from one another, Marvel Rivals could add Hank Pym's enlarged form, Giant-Man/Goliath, as a Vanguard, and add Wasp as either a Duelist or Specialist.

Captain Marvel

While Carol Danvers wasn't a founding member of the Avengers, she has appeared many times on the team's primary roster over the years. After joining and leaving the Avengers in the 1980s, Danvers returned in the 90s under the superhero moniker Warbird.

As Ms. Marvel, Danvers led the Mighty Avengers and was one of the core members of the New Avengers, a team formed when Norman Osborn started commanding the original Avengers. In the early 2010s, Carol Danvers joined the primary Avengers team once more, this time as Captain Marvel.

Captain Marvel would be another great choice for a Marvel Rivals Vanguard, with her superhuman strength, energy absorption abilities, and ability to fly making her a powerful tank-like hero.

Wonder Man

One of the few classic Avengers members who hasn't made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut just yet (a Disney+ show is on the way), Wonder Man debuted in 1964's The Avengers #4, where he fought the founding members of the team as a supervillain. For the next decade or so, Wonder Man was left in a comatose state, being revived frequently by villains like Kang and the Living Laser to be used as a weapon.

Wonder Man was eventually freed from this cycle, and chose to join the Avengers in 1977's The Avengers #160. Much like Carol Danvers, Wonder Man (Simon Williams) has joined a variety of Avengers teams over the years, including the Mighty Avengers, the Uncanny Avengers, and the West Coast Avengers.

Wonder Man's bulky physique, near-invulnerability, ionic energy manipulation, superhuman strength and agility, and teleportation powers would all make him an ideal choice for a new Marvel Rivals Vanguard.

Quicksilver

Making his debut alongside his twin sister Scarlet Witch in 1964 as an X-Men villain, Quicksilver quickly turned heel and became a core member of the original Avengers line-up, joining the team in 1965's The Avengers #16. While his sister is already in Marvel Rivals, Pietro Maximoff didn't make the cut. Quicksilver would be a great Duelist hero though, offering speedster gameplay that isn't really available in the hero shooter yet.

Vision

Debuting in 1968's The Avengers #57, Vision quickly became a core member of the superhero group, and has stayed a vital member ever since. Vision would make for a great Specialist in Marvel Rivals, being able to phase through walls, create decoys, regenerate, and fly.
