Summary
- Ghost Rider may be coming to Marvel Rivals as a different version, The Hood, with unique abilities.
- The Hood (Parker Robbins) reportedly has dual guns, a demon transformation, and abilities like Shield and Clone Projection.
- Players may have expected a more iconic Ghost Rider like Johnny Blaze, but this new addition could add interesting dynamics.
The latest Marvel Rivals leak suggests that Ghost Rider could be coming to the game soon, though not the one players were likely expecting. Marvel Rivals already has a hefty roster of playable characters, from household names to lesser-known heroes that only die-hard comic readers would recognize. Developer NetEase is still looking to expand on Marvel Rivals, and has been polling players on what they would like to see in future seasons.
One name that keeps cropping up in lists of requested Marvel Rivals characters is Ghost Rider, the legendary Spirit of Vengeance that slays the wicked from atop his flaming motorcycle. There have been multiple Ghost Riders in the world of Marvel, and many of them have been playable in numerous video games. The original Johnny Blaze incarnation has appeared in older titles like Marvel Ultimate Alliance and the Marvel Vs. Capcom series, while the more modern Robbie Reyes recently revved up his demonic engine in Marvel’s Midnight Suns.
Marvel Rivals Announces Spring Festival Event
NetEase Games surprises fans by announcing that players will soon be able to participate in a new Spring Festival event within Marvel Rivals.
However, a different Ghost Rider entirely could be making his fiery debut in Marvel Rivals. Fresh off the previous leaks of upcoming Marvel Rivals characters like Ultron, Twitter user and prominent leaker X0XLEAK shared word that Parker Robbins, aka The Hood, is in development as a playable character. Just like in the comics, he will come armed with twin pistols and an alternate demonic form, along with a list of abilities like Dual Gun Overheat Cooling, Clone Projection, Clone Range Control, Clone Detonation, Shield, and Shield health management.
The Parker Robbins Version of Ghost Rider Could Be Coming to Marvel Rivals
Parker Robbins only recently became the Ghost Rider in the comics, doing so in the pages of 2024’s Ghost Rider: Final Vengeance. During that arc, Robbins acted as a more sinister version of the Spirt of Vengeance. In his original persona The Hood, he has appeared in games like Marvel: Contest of Champions and Marvel Snap in addition to a tie-in comic for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Anthony Ramos will soon play the MCU incarnation of Parker Robbins in the upcoming Disney Plus series Ironheart.
Gamers likely weren’t expecting to see the Parker Robbins version of Ghost Rider in Marvel Rivals, as many would rather play a more traditional incarnation like Johnny Blaze. However, it would be an interesting direction for Marvel Rivals to go in if this leak is accurate, especially since a live-action take on the mystical villain is on the way.
