To mark one full year since Marvel Rivals entered closed alpha, the Galacta's Gift event is now live with free rewards for players to earn. Just by completing some simple challenges, players can earn customization items and even a Costume Coin that can be redeemed in the Marvel Rivals shop.

This Marvel Rivals event also includes the controversial Chrono Shield Cards, a new item that allows players to prevent a loss of points after losing a Competitive match. Quite a few of these are offered as rewards along the Galacta's Gift event track, but they can only be used for a brief window before they expire. There are even more free rewards in the Galacta's Gift event, however, so players shouldn't wait to jump in and start completing missions.

Galacta's Gift Event Schedule In Marvel Rivals

Unlike other Marvel Rivals events, Galacta's Gift is actually permanent. After its introduction on May 15, 2025, all players can complete the Galacta's Gift event once per account. The event challenges are fairly easy to complete, too, so this is basically an onboarding tool to help new players learn the game.

There is one limited-time thing available during the Galacta's Gift event, however. The Season 0 Battle Pass is available for purchase again through May 29, giving new players the chance to snag some classic skins for heroes like Doctor Strange, Mantis, Black Panther, and more. Battle Passes never expire in Marvel Rivals, so buying the Season 0 Battle Pass will ensure that players can get the rewards at some point down the line.

Marvel Rivals Galacta's Gift Chrono Shield Card

A Costume Coin is the final reward on the Galacta's Gift event track, so players will get it after they have obtained everything else the event has to offer. By completing games in Quick Match, Competitive, or Practice vs. AI, players will progress through the event track and get sprays, nameplates, and other cosmetics along the way.

Only one reward can be claimed per day, so it takes a full week of activity to get the Costume Coin at the end of the reward track. Once claimed, the Costume Coin can be used to unlock a skin from the Marvel Rivals shop for free. Only a limited selection of skins are available, however, but more could be added to this pool sometime in the future.
