Marvel Rivals will soon end its Season 0 and some rumors are hinting at the addition of several characters.
Marvel Rivals debuted with incredible success in early December with a roster of 33 characters. Among these units is Groot, a Vanguard character with unique abilities that can protect allies by creating obstacles or blocking enemy fire. Although Groot's appearance may seem menacing, Marvel fans may remember how Groot is actually a gentle soul at heart. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, for example, Groot has been portrayed as a very kind friend and loyal teammate who is rarely aggressive as an adult. It seems Marvel Rivals has taken some of Groot's personality traits into consideration when designing him, as one player has noticed.
Reddit user Psychological-Ad8663 shared how Groot's signature in Marvel Rivals is a cute smiley face instead of his name written down. In Marvel Rivals, all characters have lore tabs that describe their backstory. These tabs also showcase the character's personal signature next to their title. Groot's smiley face not only expresses his easy-going nature but also shows the developers' attention to general Marvel lore. Including his base skin, Groot already has four outfit variants in the shooter game. However, some Marvel Rivals leaks revealed a new Groot skin potentially coming in Season 1.
