NetEase Games has revealed it will be bringing cross-progression to Marvel Rivals on October 23, but the feature will only be available through early access. Marvel Rivals recently launched its major Season 4.5 update, which added the Duelist Daredevil to the popular hero shooter's ever-expanding roster.
Many fans have been enjoying their time with the fresh Duelist, as Daredevil's melee-focused ability kit gives DPS players another hero capable of getting up close and personal with their opponents. Gamers also seem to be eagerly awaiting Marvel Rivals' Halloween cosmetics, which should launch alongside the Voyage to Astonish event on October 24. A new mystery mode will be launching on the same day, though the developers haven't shared any specific details about it just yet. Players can also look forward to a second wave of spooky cosmetics coming to the shop on October 31, as NetEase Games will be adding a Man-Spider skin for Spider-Man and a Queen of the Dead costume for Scarlet Witch to the hero shooter.
Marvel Rivals’ Cross-Progression Launches in Early Access October 23
While NetEase Games has announced that it will be bringing cross-progression to Marvel Rivals in earnest during Season 5, which is expected to launch on November 14, gamers looking to take advantage of the new feature right away will need to fill out an application. In order to be considered, players will need to submit their application by October 20. After the application window has ended, fans will want to keep an eye on their in-game mail to see if they were accepted into the early access program. According to NetEase Games, gamers who have been accepted into early access will receive an invitation by October 23.
Cross-progression has been a highly requested feature since the game's launch in December 2024. While NetEase Games has certainly expanded the reach of the title by bringing Marvel Rivals to PlayStation 4, it's possible cross-progression could welcome in a whole new batch of players. The ability to move between devices is appealing to many gamers, and it has certainly played a role in the success of titles like Fortnite, which allow people to swap between various platforms without losing any progression or cosmetics.
Many fans have expressed that they would still like to see Marvel Rivals come to the Nintendo Switch 2, though there hasn't been any kind of official announcement indicating that such a port is on the way. Combined with cross-progression, the ability to play on Nintendo Switch 2 would allow gamers to take the popular hero shooter on the go without sacrificing any progress. While it's an appealing thought, players will need to wait to see what NetEase Games does next. With so much content to enjoy and even more on the way, many fans are feeling optimistic about the future of Marvel Rivals.
