Summary
- Fans of Marvel Rivals want Bruce Banner to spawn as Hulk to avoid repetitive voice lines upon respawning.
- It's unclear if NetEase Games will make this change.
- A big update for Marvel Rivals is expected to come in January when Season 1 starts.
Marvel Rivals fans want to see a quality of life change made to the Hulk in a future update. The Hulk has been one of the most popular Marvel Comics characters for decades, and so it's no surprise that the angry giant made the cut for the Marvel Rivals debut roster.
Considering Hulk's size and sheer strength, it makes sense that he is one of Marvel Rivals's Vanguards, aka a Tank. Hulk is one of the most unique characters on the entire roster because he actually starts off as Bruce Banner, equipped with a gun and a grenade, who can then transform into the Hulk once their Ult is charged. It's not unlike Overwatch 2's D.Va and her mech.
Marvel Rivals Feature Divides the Community
A new Marvel Rivals feature splits the community, with some calling it a helpful tool while others worry it will make the game more toxic.
But while D.Va starts Overwatch 2 matches in her mech, Hulk starts matches as the significantly weaker Bruce Banner. Bruce spawns with full Ult charge, and so while it may seem like a non-issue, it can become annoying for Hulk mains. There isn't really much of a reason to stay as Bruce in Marvel Rivals, and so players have to constantly use his Ult at spawn, watch the animation, and hear the "I'm Hulking out!" Voice line. Reddit user AbyssHeart recently made a post asking for Bruce Banner to spawn as the Hulk, and the idea seems to be extremely popular with the community, amassing nearly 7,000 upvotes at the time of this writing.
Marvel Rivals Fans Want Bruce Banner to Spawn as The Hulk
Looking through the comments, it seems many Marvel Rivals fans agree that letting Bruce Banner spawn as the Hulk would be a big improvement. Some pointed out that this would potentially mean losing some of the interactions Bruce Banner has with other members of the Marvel Rivals roster, and so they put forth a compromise to have Bruce Banner start as himself at the beginning of the match, but to respawn as the Hulk for the rest of it.
It's unclear if NetEase Games will make this change to Marvel Rivals or not. We do know that Marvel Rivals Season 1 is coming in January, and it's expected to bring with it a big update that will see a fresh batch of content added to the popular hero shooter game. There has been some speculation that the Marvel Rivals Season 1 update will include balance changes and address fan feedback, but that remains to be seen.
