- Characters like Mantis and Venom offer support and tanking options that complement Hela's damage-dealing abilities.
Knowing how to combine all the characters in Marvel Rivals to create a potent team of superheroes is a large part of the game. With a large roster of Marvel heroes to choose from, that task is easier said than done. However, players should be ready to see certain characters pop up more frequently now that people have had a chance to explore all of their abilities and benefits. One of these characters is Hela, the sorceress sister of Thor, who has quickly become a popular choice for many players in the game.
Marvel Rivals: 7 Characters That Would Make Good Vanguards
Marvel Rivals has room for many more Vanguards to add to the rosters, including the likes of Count Dracula and Captain Marvel.
Hela is a really great option for players thanks to her ability kit, which allows her to not only deal significant damage to her foes, but also provide resurrection skills for her teammates when used in the proper Team-Up. This all combines into one powerful package of a character that players can use to put pressure on any objective in the game. Of course, there are some characters that players can pair up with Hela to make her even more powerful.
8 Thor
Wreak Sibling Havoc
- Hela's ranged attacks complement Thor's close-quarters skills
- Hela can resurrect Thor soon after he dies
Starting off this list is Hela's very own brother Thor, the god of thunder, who excels at getting in close to the enemies and bashing them to pieces. This is a great complement to Hela's more ranged-focused abilities and creates a potent combo of long- and short-distance attacks.
However, what really makes this team-up worth using is that Hela comes with the Queen of Hell ability, which will allow her to revive Thor after she lands a final blow soon after he goes down. Furthermore, if she is able to get a final hit with Thor still alive, she will give him bonus health, which can be huge for his role as a Vanguard.
7 Loki
Create Mischief Together
- Both characters can mess with opponents from a distance
- Hela can also revive Loki with her abilities
Loki is the third sibling of the Asgardian royalty, and he has some different skill sets than the other two. Loki is much more focused on supporting his teammates through healing abilities and tricking the other team with illusions of himself. With the right person controlling him, Loki can be the biggest pain in any team's side.
Marvel Rivals: How To Play Jeff The Land Shark
Jeff the Land Shark is an adorable yet extremely competent hero and the ultimate star of the Marvel Rivals roster. Here's how to play him.
Combined with Hela, he can be even more frustrating for the other team. Both of them can use their powers to trick the other team before wiping them out. Plus, Hela can also use her Queen of Hel ability to revive or buff Loki in the exact same way that she can with Thor.
6 Captain America
Pepper Enemies While Cap Does Work
- The close-range nature of Cap works well with Hela's range
- Pins enemies down easily
Captain America, as can be assumed, is all about melee attacks that involve using his shield to bash his opponents. He can then use his strength to sprint or jump out of the fray before going back in for more. Combine that with Hela's ranged attacks and this pair can really do some damage to the enemy team.
This combination of play styles can also help dominate an objective. Hela can hover above the arena, hammering the enemies with her powerful skills, while Cap is in the middle of the fight smashing everyone with his shield.
5 Hulk
Combine Two Strengths
- Hulk can wipe out an objective while Hela helps
- Hela can help get Bruce out of the fight if needed
First off, this pair can work wonders much how Hela and Captain America operate together. Hulk will be the brawn of this duo, going to town on the point while Hela provides supporting fire from afar and above. It makes for a great combination that will frustrate any team.
Marvel Rivals: How To Play Cloak & Dagger
Cloak & Dagger has one of the most interesting playstyles in Marvel Rivals as you need to play as two characters. Here's how to play them both.
It gets even better. Once Hulk turns back into Bruce after his health is eliminated, he is going to become much weaker. Hela has enough damage output to be able to help him escape from the battle until he can transform again.
4 Doctor Strange
Provide Overwatch
- Both characters can be nuisances from afar
- Able to deal good damage despite more support-centric skills
Doctor Strange is pretty similar to Hela, which is a good thing. Both of these characters use some decently strong attacks that are best used when they are out of a fight. Strange also has a great portal ability to help teammates move across the map much quicker to get back into the battle.
Together, they are a solid combination that can provide overwatch on the objective. Being able to do good damage from a distance means that the players who are in the thick of it will have an easier time finding success.
3 Star-Lord
Great Damage Output
- Both characters excel at dishing out damage while moving
- Provides really good damage output
Star-Lord is another Duelist in Marvel Rivals, as is Hela, and the two are a great combo together. Star-Lord's abilities are about moving around the map quickly, getting in to push the objective, and then getting out to flank the enemies again. When used properly, he can be a menace across every location.
Marvel Rivals: Every Map, Ranked
There is a fun collection of maps in Marvel Rivals for gamers to play on. Here's how they rank up next to one another.
It gets even better. Once Hulk turns back into Bruce after his health is eliminated, he is going to become much weaker. Hela has enough damage output to be able to help him escape from the battle.
2 Mantis
Frustrate Every Enemy
- Mantis can keep Hela alive easily
- Put the enemies to sleep before Hela takes them out
Mantis is one of the best Strategist characters in the game and does a great job of keeping her teammates alive. While her damage output is rather low compared to other characters, she is a real asset for any player who is willing to be dedicate their time to keeping their team up and running.
Hela is not the tankiest of characters, which is why having Mantis' healing abilities is a big help. Plus, Mantis can put enemies to sleep and open them up to Hela's attacks, all from a distance.
1 Venom
An Infuriating 1-2 Punch
- Venom can be a wrecking ball on the battlefield
- Hela can dish out the pain while he escapes
Venom is a big character and will likely aggro most of the enemies on an objective. While he can withstand a lot of the pain, he does need to retreat sometimes. He can do so by using his web-swinging to get out of danger with ease, which is a frustrating experience for anyone trying to take him down.
Hela can be there to keep the pressure on so that enemies don't get too comfortable on the point. It's a surprisingly effective combination that can be a headache for the other team.
