Having a diverse roster is key to a hero shooter's success, and that's a core reason why Marvel Rivals is doing so well. At launch, Marvel Rivals' roster had a total of 33 playable heroes and villains taken from all corners of the Marvel multiverse, including main players of teams like The Avengers, the X-Men, and the Guardians of the Galaxy. The Fantastic Four is the latest to join Marvel Rivals' roster, with Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman currently in the game, and the Human Torch and The Thing set to join them later in Season 1.

It's been officially confirmed that each new season of Marvel Rivals from here on out will bring two new playable heroes to the table, one at the start of the season and one at its mid-season mark. And if at least some of the leaks surrounding Marvel Rivals are true, fans might already know what the next year or more will look like for the Marvel hero shooter.

Marvel Rivals’ Spider-Man Deserves a Game-Changing Kit Buff

Marvel Rivals' Spider-Man is kneecapped by having Web-Clusters that replenish and, while unlikely, a sizeable kit buff could rectify that.

Every Leaked Marvel Rivals Character So Far

From the instant Marvel Rivals released its closed Beta back in Summer 2024, dataminers and leakers have had a never-ending field day. Over 20 individual heroes have been leaked and rumored to appear in Marvel Rivals' future seasons, most of which are allegedly referenced directly in the game's files. These 20+ leaked heroes are as follows:

  • Ultron
  • Blade
  • Emma Frost
  • Jean Grey
  • Angela
  • The Hood
  • Captain Marvel
  • Hit-Monkey
  • Valkyrie
  • M.O.D.O.K.
  • Jia Jing
  • Deadpool
  • Colossus
  • Cyclops
  • Professor X
  • Nightcrawler
  • Gambit
  • Rogue
  • Jubilee
  • Beast
  • Locus
  • Ghost Rider
  • Paste Pot Pete/Trapster

Some of these leaked Marvel Rivals heroes and villains seem a little more likely to appear than others. Ultron, for instance, might as well be officially confirmed at this point, with his entire ability kit and some official in-game artwork having been leaked months ago. Emma Frost also had the vast majority of her ability kit leaked quite a while ago, which could hint that she's close to completion behind the scenes.

Blade seems like another probable addition to Marvel Rivals' roster, with the character making his first official in-game appearance in the ongoing Eternal Night Falls seasonal event, where he's placed front-and-center of an unlockable Gallery Card alongside Dracula.

There's a theory going around that developer NetEase could be planting fake files deliberately to expose insider sources and throw off leakers. If that's true, then there's no telling how many of these leaked characters could have been placed as red herrings.

Other leaked heroes seem likely to come to Marvel Rivals purely due to the laws of probability. Over 10 Mutants have been rumored to appear in Marvel Rivals. Given that most of these leaked Mutants are X-Men mainstays, it seems exceptionally likely that at least a few will come to Marvel Rivals in the future, with Cyclops, Jean Grey, Colossus, and Rogue being the most probable picks.

The rest of the leaked line-up is a little less clear, however. While incredibly popular characters like Captain Marvel and Deadpool would be obvious picks for Marvel Rivals' post-launch content, more niche figures like Hit-Monkey and Paste Pot Pete/Trapster might not evoke the same reactions from fans. That being said, niche characters like Jeff the Land Shark have shot to fame thanks to Marvel Rivals, so any hero or villain could be on the cards.
