While players only need to collect a certain number of Wonder Seeds to progress in Super Mario Bros. Wonder, there are dozens of additional courses that they can find and complete by thoroughly exploring their surroundings. There is a green pipe in Pipe-Rock Plateau, south of Bulrush Express and Wall-Climb Jump I, that gamers can enter, and there they will find even more courses, one of them being Pipe-Rock Rumble.

Mario Wonder players seeking all five Wonder Tokens in Pipe Park can refer to this guide.

Pipe-Rock Rumble is a timed-challenge course in Super Mario Bros. Wonder, and this guide will show players how they can quickly complete each stage in order to collect all three purple Flower Coins.

How Pipe-Rock Rumble Works

mario choosing power ups pipe rock rumble

Once players start Pipe-Rock Rumble, they'll be able to equip and take an additional Power-Up with them; Fire Flowers and Elephant Fruit will continuously come out of two pipes in the lobby area before the actual challenges start. Each Power-Up can be helpful in certain situations, so players might want to do a test run of the course before attempting this timed challenge.

After deciding which Power-Ups they'd like to take, gamers must enter the red pipe in the middle of the room to move on to the first challenge. The timer will only start once players have entered the pipe, and then it'll only stop once they enter the last pipe after the third challenge - there are no breaks in between.

Goomba Challenge

Players will have to take down 15 Goombas to complete the first stage of the course. Although turning into an elephant can make it easier to eliminate the Goombas, the Fire Flower is the fastest solution here, as players can quickly throw fireballs as they race closer to the next set of Goombas.

The fastest way to complete this level is to throw five fireballs and take out the first set of Goombas as well as another sleeping Goomba not far behind. Next, go up and stomp on the two sleeping Goombas on the platform. Go back to the area with the yellow barrels and throw two fireballs at the Goombas. Players can now move to the right, and they should take out the Goombas on the ground floor first before jumping back onto the upper level and eliminating the two sleeping Goombas.

Once all enemies have been defeated, the gate will open, allowing fans to enter the red pipe and move on to the next challenge.

Piranha Plant Challenge

The Piranha Plant Challenge can cost players a lot of time, so they must act quickly. In order to get the gate to open, gamers will have to eliminate eight moving Piranha Plants. They will continuously drop out of the four yellow pipes on the ceiling, and each one will go in a different direction until they reach the red pipes down below and return back up.

To quickly take out the Piranha Plants, players should either use the Elephant Fruit and hit them with their tru nk or stand below one of the music blocks and gradually eliminate them by hitting the block once they step on it.

Bulrush Challenge

Super Mario Bros. Wonder introduced Mario fans to Bulrushes, a completely different enemy type. This enemy will run in the player's direction at full speed as soon as it sees them. Since the Bulrush Challenge stage is set up high in the sky and there are only tall trees nearby, fans will easily be able to get rid of the Bulrushes by tricking them.

Super Mario Bros. Wonder: Why Are Some Courses Missing Green Check Marks?

Completing all of the listed objectives for a course will usually unlock a green check mark in Super Mario Wonder, but this isn't always the case.

By

Gamers don't actually need the Fire Flower or the Elephant Fruit to eliminate the Bulrushes; they only need to step in front of them and then jump as soon as the enemy is about to collide with them - this will get them to fall out of their tree.

Players can also eliminate a Bulrush by repeatedly hitting it with fireballs or an elephant trunk, and it's the fastest way to take out a Bulrush in this level if one of them runs into a wall and becomes stunned.

Unlike the other Bulrushes, the last Bulrush will actually jump over the player before running off the platform, so gamers should stay put in order to avoid damage. In total, players will have to get rid of five Bulrushes in order to finish this last challenge and walk past the gate.

Pipe-Rock Rumble Flower Coins

The faster the player completes the course, the more Flower Coins they'll unlock. In order to get all the Pipe-Rock Rumble Flower Coins at once, players will have to complete the course before the timer reaches 70 seconds. Here are the time requirements for each Flower Coin:

  • Pipe-Rock Rumble Flower Coin #1 - 180 seconds (three minutes)
  • Pipe-Rock Rumble Flower Coin #2 - 120 seconds (two minutes)
  • Pipe-Rock Rumble Flower Coin #3 - 70 seconds (one minute and ten seconds)

Pipe-Rock Rumble Wonder Seed
