Angry Spikes and Sinkin' Pipes is a course in Super Mario Bros. Wonder's first World, Pipe-Rock Plateau, and it is home to two Wonder Seeds and three Purple Flower Coins. While many of these collectibles are quite easy to find, some of them can prove to be a bit elusive. Indeed, some players may struggle to obtain all the Wonder Seeds and Purple Flower Coins in Super Mario Bros. Wonder's Angry Spikes and Sinkin' Pipes level, and this guide is written with those fans in mind.
Updated November 27th, 2023: Angry Spikes and Sinkin' Pipes can be a bit difficult to navigate for players looking to obtain 100 percent of the level in Super Mario Bros. Wonder. Not only will players need to reach the top of the flag pole at the end of the level, but they'll need to find all the collectibles, including some tricky Purple Flower Coins. To better help players find the Purple Flower Coins in Angry Spikes and Sinkin' Pipes in Super Mario Bros. Wonder, the following guide has been updated with a companion video.
Angry Spikes and Sinkin' Pipes Purple Flower Coin #1
Not long after starting Angry Spikes and Sinkin' Pipes, Mario Wonder players will encounter a flower on the ground, and touching it will cause a pipe to emerge from the top of the screen. Fans can enter that pipe by dispatching the Spike that is below it, allowing the pipe on the ground to rise, and they should head to the right side of the background area to obtain the first Purple Flower Coin.
Angry Spikes and Sinkin' Pipes Purple Flower Coin #2
Once the player has returned to the foreground, they should continue to the right to reach an elevated row of note blocks. The second Purple Flower Coin sits atop those blocks, and fans should take care to avoid the Mario Wonder enemy's projectiles as they attempt to grab it.
Angry Spikes and Sinkin' Pipes Purple Flower Coin #3
Beyond the checkpoint in Angry Spikes and Sinkin' Pipes, players will see three Piranha Plants on the ground. Standing on the vertical pipe to the left of those enemies will cause it to sink, and players should use Mario Wonder's Fire Flower power-up to defeat the foes. Fans will then have access to a flower on the ground, and touching it will make the third Purple Flower Coin appear.
Angry Spikes and Sinkin' Pipes Wonder Seed #1
Fans will encounter a suspended flower immediately after collecting the third Purple Flower Coin, and coming into contact with it will send an orb of light downward. When that occurs, players should stand on the pipe with the talking flower and let it sink past the bottom of the screen. This action will send fans into a subarea with a Wonder Flower, and they will receive the first Wonder Seed at the end of this section.
Angry Spikes and Sinkin' Pipes Wonder Seed #2
The second Wonder Seed is awarded upon touching the flagpole and completing Angry Spikes and Sinkin' Pipes. If the player is having some trouble touching the top of the flagpole, they should simply jump from the highest pipe and use the Parachute Cap Badge in Mario Wonder to maintain their elevation.
Super Mario Bros. Wonder is available now exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
