It can be argued that the Mario & Luigi series has a good number of games in the Mario franchise that have aged the best, and playing them again on the next system would still be worthwhile even after so many years. That reason alone could incentivize Nintendo to push through with remastering each title and putting them in a collection, but it's not enough to warrant it. Luckily, there are other benefits it brings that may be enough to make the company consider letting it happen:

Remastering some of the classic titles and putting them into a collection for a modern console makes it easy for everyone to see why the Mario & Luigi series became so popular, which could result in more fans and a new avenue of extending the Mario brand's reach.
Making it for the powerful Nintendo Switch 2 means utilizing the system's hardware to develop stunning visuals, which will make each game a feast for the eyes for modern gamers and help them appreciate what the older titles have to offer.
Considering that each entry is fairly long, Nintendo could split the collection into two and divide the games equally among them, allowing the company more opportunities to generate sales.
