Every console needs a good launch title or two, and that is exactly what Mario Kart World is for the Nintendo Switch 2. While the gameplay of Mario Kart remains, at its core, the same as it has always been since its debut on the Super Nintendo. But for the first time ever, Mario Kart World has an open-world element in the form of free roam mode.

Between all the collectibles you can find, missions you can complete, and tracks to race on with your friends, there is a lot to do in the latest entry in the Mario Kart series. But how long does it take to actually beat the game and roll the credits?

Spoilers below, proceed with caution.

How Long to Beat Mario Kart World

Keep in mind that this initial number focuses exclusively on just beating every single cup available in Mario Kart World. There are eight cups available in Grand Prix mode with the eighth unlocking upon successfully completing the other seven cups first. Below you will find a table of how long it took to beat each cup. Each race in a cup took anywhere from two and a half to three and a half minutes, but the time will vary depending on what CC you are playing on.

Cup

Time

Mushroom Cup

13 minutes

Flower Cup

12 minutes, 30 seconds

Star Cup

12 minutes, 39 seconds

Shell Cup

12 minutes

Banana Cup

11 minutes, 36 seconds

Leaf Cup

15 minutes, 45 seconds

Lightning Cup

11 minutes, 55 seconds

Special Cup

17 minutes, 30 seconds

Added all together, it took one hour, forty-six minutes, and fifty-five seconds to beat all cups in Mario Kart World. So, depending on the CC you are playing on and if you retried a cup to get three stars, it can take anywhere from a little under two hours to three plus hours to beat Mario Kart World.

Bear in mind that this does not include the time it would take to get three stars on all cups on all CCs, complete every mission, unlock every character, or find every single Peach Medallion scattered throughout free roam mode. As such, beating Mario Kart World and collecting/unlocking everything will take significantly longer. If you are the type of player who looks to 100% a game, Mario Kart World will keep you pretty busy as you track down everything there is to find in free roam mode.
