With the upcoming release of Mario Kart Tour, fans will get their opportunity to fling blue shells on their phones. Folks who want to make sure the game pops into their devices immediately should know that pre-registration has now launched on iPhone and Android. Mario Kart Tour will bring the Mario Kart experience to mobile devices when it releases on September 25th.

Nintendo has built a fully-featured version of Mario Kart for phones. Mario Kart Tour will feature the characters and items that franchise fans will recognize, as well as new courses and some old favorites. Early reports have said that Mario Kart Tour might feature egregious microtransactions, but otherwise, fans can download and play it for free when it launches next month.

Both the Google and Apple app stores have a feature which lets people reserve upcoming games. When the game releases, the app store will notify the user and download the game automatically. This gives folks the opportunity to jump in as soon as possible without needing to put the release date on their calendars. Those who want to pre-register for Mario Kart Tour immediately upon release can do so at the following links: iOS users OR Android users.

A beta for Mario Kart Tour launched earlier this year on Android, and some folks got a chance to try it out. According to reports, the game will feature portrait mode gameplay, just like all of Nintendo's other mobile outings. In the game, players will turn by moving their thumb on the screen side-to-side. If the racer gets a power-up, players can tap on the screen quickly in order to launch it. The game features auto-acceleration as well as steering correction in order to make it easier to play with touch controls.

As far as monetization goes, beta users have reported a gacha system that will allow players to pay for a shot at random karts, characters, and upgrades. It also features something similar to the recently released Dr. Mario World, where the game will only let players play a certain number of races before they have to wait or pay up. Whether or not these affect its popularity remains to be seen.

Mario Kart Tour will be available September 25th on Android and iOS.
