Almost two months after the game's initial release, Mario Kart Tour  is finally getting a landscape mode. Since launch, the feature has been inexplicably absent, and fans were left wondering why. Now, there's a solid timeframe for when the feature will be implemented, with Nintendo promising it will arrive in "the next Mario Kart Tour  update" on July 21st.

Mario Kart Tour  provides mobile users the chance to play Mario Kart  on the go, but its peculiar lack of a landscape mode has been a subject of criticism for quite some time now. It's hard to imagine why Nintendo wouldn't have included this from the start given that this is a racing game.

Though Mario Kart Tour  didn't have landscape mode at first, players will now be able to choose whether they want to use the traditional portrait mode or play in landscape mode instead. Landscape mode does come with a new control scheme, so players may have to test out both to decide which works best for them.

This on top of the recently added multiplayer update for Mario Kart Tour should work to draw a lot more gamers into the fold. Both of these features seem like key aspects of any Mario Kart  game, so it is good to see that Mario Kart Tour  is finally where it needs to be.

Mario Kart Tour  is available now on Mobile.
