Being a lord in Manor Lords requires you to put in a lot of effort to grow your town. This necessitates gaining influence among your settlers so that they can have your back when things get tough. Also, you can develop your town by having enough treasury wealth, which you can gain by taxing the people.
Surprisingly though, one single building within your territory, a Manor, can take care of all these weighty responsibilities. Nevertheless, it isn't accessible right from the beginning and needs to be unlocked by reaching the settlement level of a Small Village. If you are interested in understanding how to build this building, refer to this detailed guide.

What is the Manor?
The Manor House is the administrative building in Manor Lords, and it isessential for managing and expanding your settlement. This building is pivotal to your town's development, as it offers numerous advantages.
- The Manor allows you to recruit Retinues, who are powerful and loyal fighters ready to defend you in battle.
- Building the Manor House gives you the option to use the treasury to collect taxes from your people. Without wealth, you could face a serious disadvantage when it comes to hiring mercenaries, retinue, and financing expansion.
- Furthermore, by donating food to the Church, you can earn Influence, vital for claiming new territories on the map.
How to Construct the Manor
Before constructing, make sure your settlement has reached the Small Village level, which you can achieve by constructing 5 level one Burgage Plots. Once you meet these requirements, you can start building the Manor.
To build the Manor in Manor Lords, first, go to the Administration tab in the Construction Menu. You'll need the following resources to construct the Manor.
- 5 Timber
- 20 Planks
- 15 Stones
For Timber, construct Logging Camps near trees and assign families to chop them down. Then, to acquire Planks, construct Sawpits and assign families to transform the Timber into Planks. As for Stones, establish Stonecutter Camps near Stone deposits and assign families to gather them.
Once you have these resources, select the Manor from the Administration tab and place it on the map. After placing the Manor, the Castle Planner tool will be activated. Utilize this tool to design your castle layout by positioning Walls, Gates, Garrison Towers, a Tax Office, and an Outer Tower near your Manor.
The Tax Office feature is currently inactive in the Early Access version of the game.
