The 24 Best Spider-Man Video Games Of All Time, Ranked

Marvel's Spider-Man has had his fair share of video game adaptations, with these being the very best titles to feature the Wall-Crawler.

If the rumors are true, then these Spider-Man characters still have a chance at appearing in live-action MCU movies, or even Sony’s own cinematic universe. It’s surprising that such familiar characters to Marvel comic readers still have yet to debut in a movie.

6 Silk

Bitten by the Same Spider as Peter Parker, Cindy Moon Becomes Silk

  • First Appearance: Amazing Spider-Man (Vol. 3) #1
  • Creators: Dan Slott, Humberto Ramos

Silk is one of the most famous Spider-people in the Marvel universe, but she hasn’t been given dedicated screen time in a Spider-Verse movie. Silk is great, and her story is equal parts tragic and heroic, if not a tad weird. Being bitten by the same spider as Peter Parker, Cindy Moon trained in how to use her powers, but was also kept locked away in a bunker by the same man she saw as a mentor for her own safety.

When freed by Spider-Man, Cindy Moon took on the mantle of Silk, gifting the world with yet another Spider-based hero. Yet, there are also some weird aspects of Silk’s story, like how if she and Peter spend a lingering amount of time together, their spider senses overload and they experience extreme attraction.

5 Hobgoblin

A Fashion Designer Who Seeks to Surpass Green Goblin’s Legacy

  • First Appearance: Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man #43
  • Creators: Roger Stern, Mike Zeck, John Romita Jr.

Continuing the Green Goblin’s legacy, but with a twist, is Hobgoblin. This character may have been a fashion designer, but it was his ties to the criminal underworld that made Roderick Kingsley so successful. When one of Kingsley’s associates discovered the lairs of the first Green Goblin, Kingsley took it upon himself to forge a new identity that would be greater and stronger than the first. Altering the costume and the Goblin Serum, Kingsley became the Hobgoblin.

Best Spider-Man Animated Series, Ranked

There have been many attempts to make the best Spider-Man animated series, but which of them were Marvel's most successful?

1

The Hobgoblin did not experience the same cunning hatred of Peter Parker and Spider-Man as Norman Osborne, allowing for a more classic and corruptible villain to take the stage. It’s only inevitable that the Hobgoblin makes his debut on the silver screen since he has heavy ties to Ned Leeds, Peter’s closest friend to the MCU.

4 Morlun

A Vampiric Being Who Feeds On Spider-People

  • First Appearance: Amazing Spider-Man (Vol. 2) #30
  • Creators: J. Michael Straczynski, John Romita Jr.

Morlun is a grand threat worthy to lead the antagonist role of a new Spider-Man trilogy. Morlun is a hunter, and his existence has plagued the Earth for centuries. Morlun survives by feeding on totems, which are power sources of the universe. Whilst he can feed on humans, it’s those with unique abilities, like the spider-totems that really help his appetite.

Morlun is hungry, well-educated, and preparing for war against those with incredible powers. Morlun could also be introduced through other means, as he has ties to the nation of Wakanda as a villain who seeks to eat the Panther totem from the Black Panther.

3 Silver Sable

A Master of Weaponry, and Leader of Worldwide Mercenaries

  • First Appearance: Tom DeFalco, Ron Frenz
  • Creators: Amazing Spider-Man #265

Silver Sable isn’t a woman to mess with, and she won’t tolerate quips from Spider-Man when there is a job to do. Silver Sable has traumatic resilience after being the victim of a terrorist attack, and ever since, she has trained in all forms of combat to protect herself and others in the best interest of her company, Silver Sable International.

The Best Versions Of Spider-Man In Games

Spider-Man has seen lots of adaptations in video games, and while his modern versions are some of the best, a few from his past are pretty good too.

As part of Silver Sable International, Silver Sable goes across the world, becoming a hired gun to aid in neutralizing terrorists and criminals. Yet, if Sable were to come to Spider-Man’s territory of New York, issues may arise for the young hero and the mercenary without limits.

2 Mister Negative

Martin Li Controls a Criminal Empire With the Lightforce and Darkforce

  • First Appearance: Free Comic Book Day 2007 (Spider-Man) #1
  • Creators: Dan Slott, Phil Jimenez

Martin Li was the subject of a few sinister experiments that provided him with the powers of the Darkforce, allowing him to manipulate energy to his will. Martin Li used this to combine his intellect and prowess with an unstoppable force in the criminal underworld and a dual personality.

To most, Martin Li is a hero who just wants to do good for his community, but to others, Martin Li is Mr. Negative, a sinister villain who will do what he must to make those suffer. With Peter Parker heading into his college years in the MCU, Martin Li could be a vital idol for Peter to look up to, whilst Mister Negative creates a challenging dynamic for a foe.

1 Kaine Parker

The Scarlet Spider Who Learned Great Responsibility Comes With His Great Power

  • First Appearance: Web of Spider-Man #119
  • Creators: Terry Kavanagh, Steven Butler

Audiences have already met the angsty 90s riff of Ben Reiley thanks to Across the Spider-Verse, but they haven’t met the clone brother, Kaine. Kaine is a clone of Peter Parker who developed his strength and resentment of Spider-Man due to his genetic inferiority, and so he took it open himself to deny Spider-Man his heroics, by killing villains in his name.

Despite Kaine’s strong ties to villainy and the tragedies he has endured, he has become a dark hero that the world needs. Kaine has a cool factor to him, and seeing Peter Parker deal with a clone conspiracy in the MCU could be a blast.
