Fairy Tail: Is 100 Years Quest Better Than The Original?
Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest expands upon the universe built by the original series. But is it better?
Episode 19, which aired on November 17, reveals alternates Natsu and Lucy are married in an alternate universe. Not only that, but they have a daughter, called Nasha (and she is quite similar to both). Fans have been shipping both characters for a long time and expect more development regarding their relationship.
The revelation is good news for those shippers, and a lot of them a happy with that. Despite taking place in an alternate universe, it can be a sign that Lucy and Natsu will eventually end up as a couple (which didn't happen in Fairy Tail). However, it could also be seen as a way to give fans some treats without making the actual characters engage in a romantic relationship.
Their daughter's name, "Nasha", seems to be a reference to her parent's name: the "Na" could be from "Natsu" and the "sha" reminds a bit the way the last syllable of Lucy's name is spoken in Japanese ("Lushee"). Her visual appearance also mixes her parents looks.
What is The "Alternate Universe"?
The Edolas vs The Earth Land
Fairy Tail introduces the Edolas, a parallel world to Earth Land, in which a single Kindgom rules the entire planet. There used to be floating islands and rivers, but not anymore because magic vanished. Magic is supposed to be stored in objects, and not in people's bodies (in contrast to Earth Land), but all of Edolas' magic was transferred to Earth Land. Machines are being developed to be substitutes for former magical objects.
Most people from Earth Land have Edolas counterparts, but their personalities tend to be opposities. And this is why it might mean that Lucy and Natsu will not get married at the end, since their opposite counterparts did, and so they would end differently. However, that remains to be seen.
