Magic: The Gathering’s New Crossover May Be Its Strangest Yet, And it is Absolutely Cursed

The last few months have been great for Magic: The Gathering crossovers, but one upcoming one for October may take the cake and eat it horrifically.

Wizards of the Coast officially unveiled its next big crossover set during New York Comic Con, confirming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be joining the card game's lineup. The reveal showed off several new cards featuring each of the four Turtles and several iconic supporting characters, including April O'Neil, Casey Jones, and main antagonist Shredder. Wizards of the Coast also revealed some of the products that will be coming with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, including a new "Pizza Bundle," a set of Commander Decks, and more. Magic's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set is scheduled to officially launch on March 26.

Magic: the Gathering Reveals TMNT Crossover

The introduction of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to Magic: the Gathering will not be the first time Wizards of the Coast has partnered up with Nickelodeon. The card game made waves with one of its "Secret Lair" drops earlier this year, adding some exclusive cards based on SpongeBob SquarePants. Magic: the Gathering is also gearing up to launch another new Nickelodeon collaboration next month, with a new Standard-legal Avatar: the Last Airbender expansion.

Magic: the Gathering Shredder Card

Magic: the Gathering's litany of crossover announcements have also seen some news related to more in-universe cards in the near future. Magic: the Gathering has revealed three new in-universe sets to be released in 2026, including returns to popular planes like Lorwyn and Arcavios with "Lorwyn Eclipsed and "Secrets of Strixhaven." Wizards of the Coast has also teased "Reality Fracture" as another new set coming next year, though little has been revealed about the expansion. Magic: the Gathering fans should have lots to look forward to from the card game with a busy 2026 ahead.
