EA Sports has revealed the Madden NFL 25 rating of Travis Kelce, one of the most recognizable American football stars in the world, and he once again joins the ranks of the highest-rated players in the game. EA is currently in the midst of Madden NFL 25's Ratings Week, in which it's hyping the upcoming release of the game on August 16 by revealing the overall scores of the league's biggest players.

EA started Ratings Week by revealing the top 10 best wide receivers and safeties in Madden NFL 25. Miami Dolphins and former Super Bowl winner Tyreek Hill leads the pack of wide receivers by being the first player in the game to be announced as part of the coveted 99 Club, a small group of NFL stars who have the highest overall stats in each entry of the long-running franchise. Jessie Bates III of the Atlanta Falcons, meanwhile, leads the game's safeties with an OVR of 97.

The comeback of a college football rival doesn't mean Madden NFL 25 isn't worth a look. These pre-order deals may keep gamers competing as pros.

And speaking of the 99 Club, it likely comes as no surprise to anyone that Travis Kelce is back in it. This is Kelce's fourth time to be rated 99 in Madden, reinforcing the Kansas City tight end as one of the best players alive right now. San Francisco 49er George Kittle, another elite tight end, trails behind him in second place with an OVR of 97, which is at least a point higher than he had in Madden NFL 24.

Top 10 Tight Ends in Madden NFL 25

  1. Travis Kelce (Kansas City Chiefs): 99 OVR
  2. George Kittle (San Francisco 49ers): 97 OVR
  3. Mark Andrews (Baltimore Ravens): 94 OVR
  4. T.J. Hockenson (Minnesota Vikings): 91 OVR
  5. David Njoku (Cleveland Browns): 90 OVR
  6. Evan Engram (Jacksonville Jaguars): 88 OVR
  7. Sam LaPorta (Detroit Lions): 86 OVR
  8. Dallas Goedert (Philadelphia Eagles): 85 OVR
  9. Dalton Schultz (Houston Texans): 84 OVR
  10. Cole Kmet (Chicago Bears): 83 OVR

In other ratings news, EA also revealed the top 10 cornerbacks on the same day. The New York Jets' Sauce Gardner sits on top with an OVR of 97, while Miami's Jalen Ramsey and Denver's Patrick Surtain II are at 96 and 95, respectively. Gardner steals the spot from Ramsey, who was ranked first among cornerbacks in Madden NFL 24, after being named to the Pro Bowl and the All-Pro first team last season.

Meanwhile, EA Sports is looking to aim higher with the game this season. Madden NFL 25 looks to differentiate itself with BOOM Tech, a new gameplay engine the developer is debuting this year. With BOOM Tech, the football sim's movement physics and animations are overhauled to feel more realistic, and EA says it provides players better control over ball movement. Despite the promise that comes with a new gameplay mechanic, the jury's still out on whether BOOM Tech will be the big thing that will inject some much-needed life into a franchise many fans feel is just showing up every year.
