M3GAN Joins Monster High, And She’s Absolutely Unhinged

So her outer "human" face just pops right off to show the robotic face underneath. It's the first Monster High doll to do this, and you can see why Mattel's proud of it, even the packaging shows both faces side by side. The mechanism looks clean, and it captures that creepy uncanny valley thing that made M3GAN work so well in the movie.

M3GAN's wearing this glossy circuit-board print dress with mesh sleeves and a bow that nails her look. But check out the shoes, one Mary Jane heel has "Bruce the Robot" on it, the other has a paper-cutter blade reference. Someone definitely did their homework. She comes with code-print tights, this "PurRpetual Petz" bat purse, and a display stand. The dress has a proper sewn underskirt, not just printed fabric. Early reviews say everything feels solid and well-made.

This joins Mattel's Skullector line that's been turning horror icons into Monster High dolls. They've done Elvira, Chucky, Annabelle, Greta from Gremlins. What's cool about this line is they treat these like actual art pieces. Premium packaging, thoughtful details, limited runs. M3GAN continues that while adding the face-swap feature.

Dropping this before M3GAN 2.0 makes sense, but there's more to it. Gerard Johnstone directed both M3GAN movies, and he's also directing the upcoming Monster High live-action film.
