Luma Island gives players a magical world to explore where there's a secret hidden behind every corner. As you build your dream farm from scratch, helping out the NPCs in the Town, and mastering new professions, you'll also gradually access new biomes. And these are not just reskins of the same map. Each biome in the game is entirely different with its own unique resources and mysteries for you to discover.
The Mountain is the second biome in the game that you can reach after finishing the Forest area. However, the steps to reaching there aren't all that clear. In this guide, we'll walk you through the steps to get to the Mountain biome in Luma Island so that you can continue your grand adventure without any trouble.
Luma Island: How To Fish
From crafting bait to casting your Fishing Rod, here's everything you need to know about fishing in the cozy farming and management sim, Luma Island.
How to Reach The Mountain in Luma Island
To unlock the Mountain biome in Luma Island, you must repair the Broken Cable Car in The Town near the Town Hall. The resources required for this can be found in the Forest biome. As such, you'll need to play through that section before starting the repair.
There are two steps to reaching the Mountain biome: repairing the General Store, and repairing the Broken Cable Car.
Repairing the General Store
You'll want to start by repairing the General Store since it's the easiest task to complete. Talk to the NPC Sophia about the General Store, and she will ask for your help repairing the shop.
Here are the resources you'll need:
|
Resource Name |
Quantity |
How to Get |
|---|---|---|
|
Fiber |
5x |
Crafted at the Simple Workbench using Reeds |
|
Forest Plank |
5x |
Crafted at the Sawmill using Forest Wood |
Like the Broken Pet Shop repair, you'll need another batch of resources to complete the repair fully. For the second batch of resources, here are the things you'll need:
|
Resource Name |
Quantity |
How to Get |
|---|---|---|
|
Forest Stone Block |
15x |
Crafted at the Sawmill using Forest Stone |
|
Forest Plank |
5x |
Crafted at the Sawmill using Forest Wood |
|
Iron Bar |
5x |
Crafted at the Ore Smelter using Iron Ore |
|
Glass |
25x |
Crafted at the Kiln using Reed and Charcoal |
After delivering the items, the Broken General Store will be repaired, and you'll be able to access the shop. Talk to Sophia afterward to get your rewards for repairing the General Store. The General Store contains plenty of useful crafting materials that you'll need later on, but for now, pick up the Cable for a Cable Car item.
The Cable for a Cable Car item costs 20,000 Gold Coins to buy.
Repairing the Broken Cable Car
Once you have the Cable for a Cable Car in your inventory, you can start working on repairing the Broken Cable Car. The resources you'll need for it can be found in the Forest biome. If you've explored the area fully, you should already have most of them covered. For the rest, you might need to make a second trip to the biome.
Here are the resources you'll need for this repair and how you can get them:
|
Resource Name |
Quantity |
How to Get |
|---|---|---|
|
Iron Bar |
10x |
Crafted at the Ore Smelter using Iron Ore |
|
Silk Rope |

Crafted at the Simple Workbench using Reeds and Spider Silk (found by destroying Spider Webs inside Temples) |
|
Forest Stone Block |
25x |
Crafted at the Sawmill using Forest Stone |
|
Forest Resin |
20x |
Harvested by chopping Forest Resin Bushes in the Forest biome |
|
Cogwheel |

|
Cable for a Cable Car |

Thankfully, unlike the General Store, you don't need a second batch of materials to repair the Cable Car. Once you have all the required resources, you can interact with the Broken Cable Car to fix it.
After fixing up the Broken Cable Car, you can ride it to reach the Mountain and start your journey in the next biome of Luma Island. Be sure to upgrade all your tools before you do so, since this region is a lot harder than the last one.
