The new Lord of the Rings spinoff series The Rings of Power is coming this fall and the Amazon Prime Video series got a new trailer to celebrate its impending arrival. This new video, called a "main teaser" is just the latest Rings of Power teaser to be released in the last few months with the very first coming on Superbowl Sunday.

From the very various Lord of the Rings series teasers that have popped up this year, one thing appears to be very clear about the new Amazon series. It will be telling the story about how that world marched to the brink of the end of the world and into Sauron's grasp. It's no secret that means the show will be taking place in a time well before the period that The Lord of the Rings movie franchise fans are familiar with. However, the basic plot will seem plenty familiar to those who have seen the original trilogy as it looks like the Amazon show will be all about the lead-up to the war against Sauron.

The new trailer for the Lord of the Rings spinoff series shows some new footage of a character that has been prominent in some other trailers in the form of a younger Galadriel. This version of Galadriel is attempting to warn her brothers and sisters of the impending darkness that is going to be marching across the land in the form of Sauron's armies. The two-and-a-half-minute video also shows some of the other races that will feature prominently when the war for Middle Earth does eventually break out, including the Harfoots and Gnomes.

LOTR movie fans know Galadriel in the form of Kate Winslett who, when she makes her appearance in the original film trilogy is quite a bit older, wiser and a veteran of the war that is about to break out in the Amazon series. She most famously "tests" herself when speaking to Frodo about the "One Ring" and is able to resist the urge to take it from him when it is offered.

The Harfoots are a branch of Hobbits that will apparently feature prominently in The Rings of Power, though it looks like they might not be quite as central to the story as Frodo and his merry band of Hobbits were to the film franchise. It appears that a good portion of the show will follow Galadriel and what she goes through.

It also appears that this new teaser is hinting that the Amazon series could like a kind of Middle Earth version of Game of Thrones as different factions are rising, or trying to rise to power. The real question is just how much focus will be on the events before Sauron's rise and how much of The Rings of Power will focus on the actual period of war.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power will debut on Amazon Prime Video On September 2.
