Lost Castle 2 doesn’t offer a traditional skill tree or character level-up system, but it introduces a creative approach to obtaining permanent skills and buffs through the Camp Upgrade feature. With this system, you unlock ongoing enhancements that make your character stronger. To maximize Lost Castle 2’s replayability and access end-game content more easily, you’ll need to master these Camp Upgrades and prioritize unlocking them all.
6 Roguelike Games With The Best Stealth Mechanics, Ranked
Not all roguelikes are purely oriented on combat. A handful of great games also come with robust stealth mechanics.
This guide will explain the Camp Upgrades in Lost Castle 2, how to acquire them, and which skills you should prioritize to get the most out of each Skill Tree.
Camp Upgrades Explained
In Lost Castle 2, Camp Upgrades are permanent skills and enhancements that boost your character’s abilities. Unlike Weapons, Amulets, Treasures, and Armor sets, which are lost after each adventure, Camp Upgrades function like a skill tree, offering ongoing buffs, amenities, and privileges.
There are 33 Camp Upgrades spread across three categories: Blacksmith Shop, Alchemist’s Hut, and the Ethereal Statue. While the ultimate goal is to unlock all of them, your early-game focus should be on the upgrades that maximize your gains. (See the priority guide below.)
How to Upgrade Your Camp
You can initiate Camp Upgrades by talking to Armstrong, the guy holding a log, or by interacting with the table next to him. Each Camp Upgrade requires Coins, and so far, that’s the only use for Coins—so don’t bother hoarding them.
The only way to collect Coins is by clearing more areas, as they are awarded in small amounts after completing each objective.
Skill Tree Priority
The best order to unlock Camp Upgrades in Lost Castle 2 is left to right: 1) Blacksmith, 2) Alchemist’s Hut, and 3) Ethereal Statue. Blacksmith upgrades help you build your character faster and explore more areas, while Alchemist’s Hut and Ethereal Statue upgrades make you tankier and allow you to collect more Soul Crystals—necessary for purchasing better gear during your adventures.
However, if you're confident in your combat skills, prioritize unlocking the Ethereal Statue upgrades. These buffs and privileges allow faster access to end-game content. The catch is that you’ll have to navigate dungeons without ATK, HP, and DEF buffs for a while, as none of the skills in the Ethereal Statue tree impact combat stats (they’re focused on the Ethereal and Soul Crystals you farm).
