How To Save In Lords Of The Fallen
Unfortunately, the only possible method to save in Lords of the Fallen is the autosaving feature. Players can’t exactly control it, but it is possible to take advantage of it.
Autosaving occurs when an important event takes place. So, this means that Lords of the Fallen is guaranteed to save progress upon arriving at a new area, discovering a boss arena, defeating said boss, picking up an essential item, and so on and so forth. Additionally, when players activate a Vestige checkpoint, the game will autosave. It’s not necessary to rest or use one of the Vestige’s features, simply interact with the fallen lampbearer lamp and the autosave icon will appear.
Besides normal Vestige checkpoints, Lords of the Fallen also autosave when planting and interacting with a Vestige Seedling. A Vestige Seed can be obtained through a couple of methods in the game, and it is used via the Umbral Lamp on an Umbral flowerbed to create a temporary Vestige.
If lampbearers wish to check when the last time the autosave feature occurred, simply open the main menu and head to the exit option. Upon pressing it, a window appears asking players if they are sure they wish to exit the game. Beneath the exit query, there is a detailed date and time of when the last time an autosave occurred. It will look something like this: “Last saved Oct 13, 2023, 11:40:14 PM.”
How To Safely Quit Lords Of The Fallen
To safely quit Lords of the Fallen, players need to open the main menu and select the Quit option. By accepting, lampbearers are moved to the title screen where they can quit the game entirely. It’s best to quit after forcing the game to save, and the best method is by interacting with a Vestige point.
If the game suddenly crashes and forces players out without autosaving, the protagonist can continue playing upon loading the most recent autosave, although it means there may be some small progress lost. Additionally, keep in mind that sometimes the save gets corrupted.
