And the ad for the Senior Character Artist has some interesting implications about the upcoming game.

Amazon Game Studios has a free-to-play Lord of the Rings MMO in the beginning stages of development. While not a whole lot is known about this project, gamers that love the Middle-earth setting are keeping a close eye on any news on it.

In a job listing, Amazon is looking for a Lord of the Rings Senior Character Artist with some very specific skills. Amazon states it is looking for "an art style for our game that is “different at a glance” from the games and movies that have come before us. We need an artist with bravery and artistic skills to help us do something new." The job description goes on to ask for "fascinating heroes, unsettling enemies, and breathtaking cinematic characters."

All of this sounds amazing to the ears of LotR fans. Having an MMO with interesting new heroes, villains, and an art style no one has seen before? Yes, please! While many fans may have been worried when Amazon announced they were making an LotR MMO, this makes the prospect a lot more interesting.
