Free Range Games has launched The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria as a new survival crafting game in the world of Middle-earth. The beloved fantasy franchise has seen a wide variety of video game adaptations from many different developers, each offering a unique view of the world. 2023 has already brought multiple games within the world of Middle-earth, including The Lord of the Rings: Gollum and EA's Heroes of Middle-earth. Now, the newest game sends players on a Dwarven adventure.

The Lord of the Rings has been a mainstay within the gaming industry with many different studios giving their own take on the fantasy world crafted by J.R.R. Tolkien. Monolith Productions debuted multiple high-profile titles in the mid-2010s with 2014's Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor and 2017's Shadow of War. The franchise also collaborated with Magic: The Gathering this year, including the coveted one-of-a-kind "The One Ring" card. Now, a new Lord of the Rings game puts the focus on the Dwarven homeland of Moria.

Free Range Games and publisher North Beach Games officially announced the release of The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria as an Epic Games Store exclusive launch. The game whisks players away to the Misty Mountains under the direction of Lord Gimli Lockbearer with the task of rebuilding the Lost Kingdom of Moria. Return to Moria establishes itself as a survival crafting game, mixing survival gameplay when exploring the mines with town building mechanics. Return to Moria also launches on PS5 on December 5th and Xbox Series X/S early next year.

The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria is set to offer players a wide variety of ways to play, both alone and with friends.
