Summary
- LOTR: Return to Moria received a 40% discount on Steam, bringing it to its lowest-ever price of $14.99.

- Both of the ongoing LOTR: Return to Moria deals run until March 6.
The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria is currently 40% off on Steam. This brings it down to its lowest-ever price on Valve's storefront, with Steam users having until early March 2025 to take advantage of the ongoing deal.
Developed by San Francisco-based Free Range Games, The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria is a survival crafting game set in the Fourth Age of Middle-earth—after the events of J.R.R. Tolkien's famous novels. The Return to Moria PC version was the first to hit the market, arriving in late October 2023 as a timed Epic Games Store exclusive. The game reached Steam in August 2024 and has since received several limited-time discounts on the platform.
The most recent of these deals materialized in late February 2025, with Return to Moria receiving a 40% discount on Steam. The special promotion brings its price from $24.99 down to $14.99, which is the lowest the game has ever been on Valve's storefront, where it presently boasts thousands of "Very Positive" user reviews. The original EGS version is still retailing at full price as of this writing, as are the Return to Moria console ports.
LOTR: Return to Moria Collector's Edition Is Also Heavily Discounted Right Now
The Collector's Edition of LOTR: Return to Moria has also been treated to a hefty discount as part of publisher North Beach Games' ongoing sale. Instead of $32.95, Steam users can currently pick up the bundle for $21.60, or 31% off. While both of these promotions are officially labeled as "weekend deals" on Valve's PC store, they are planned to run across multiple weeks, ending on Thursday, March 6.
LOTR: Return to Moria Is Best Experienced in Co-Op
Although Return to Moria can be played solo, the Lord of the Rings game was primarily envisioned as a co-op experience for up to eight people. Anyone who jumps into it right now should have no trouble finding others to play with, as the ongoing sale has seemingly brought thousands of new fans into the fold. The Steam version of the game has around 4,600 online players as of this writing, circa 11am ET on February 23.
Since Return to Moria supports cross-platform multiplayer, the total pool of people to play with is likely much larger. The survival crafting title is believed to have a particularly large community within Microsoft's gaming ecosystem, not least because it was one of the top 20 best-selling Xbox Store games of 2024. While Return to Moria has averaged one Steam sale per month since debuting on Valve's store in August 2024, its lowest price has hardly changed throughout this period—until now. That makes this ongoing offer seem like as good of a time as any to jump into the game without breaking the bank.
