Action movie fans should watch Lone Survivor on Netflix, the 2013 biopic that tells the story of Navy SEAL Mark Luttrell (Mark Wahlberg) and his fellow soldiers as they attempt to find Ahmad Shah, the leader of the Taliban. Known as Operation Red Wings, this military operation took place in the summer of 2005 in Afghanistan. There were five stages, and only Luttrell made it out alive, as the title of both the memoir and movie explains. Why You Should Watch Lone Survivor

Watch Lone Survivor On Netflix

Fans of war movies or action films should watch Lone Survivor on Netflix because it's a solid adaptation of the book. While there are some great action movies based on books, sometimes the excitement of the story gets lost in too much CGI or too many characters. When a movie is based on a true story, historical event, or real person, there is an even greater chance that it will be disappointing. However, Lone Survivor is a well-crafted movie.

Marcus Luttrell spoke to The San Diego Union-Tribune about the movie and said:

“You’ve got to understand, the battle was three hours in real life. The movie is only two hours long. (Writer-director Peter Berg) did the best he could."

Lone Survivor is also a great movie because it tells an important and meaningful story about a somber historical event. Mark Wahlberg shared in an interview with Blackfilm.com that when he reflects on Lone Survivor, he thinks about Mark Luttrell and the real people involved. He said:

"Even when watching the film I don’t think about what we did, I think about what happened to those guys and what Marcus was able to endure and to be able to survive to tell the story of his brothers. That was a very special thing and we were embraced by the SEAL community and the military as a whole because of everyone’s intention going in. It was just to tell their story and make a tribute not only to them but anyone who’s ever walked into a recruiting office, and certainly to their loved ones and anyone who suffered a loss."
