Little Orpheus is a story-driven platformer that had been inspired by classic movies of the 1980s and 1990s - such as The Land Before Time, Flash Gordon, and so on. The player takes control of Ivan Ivanovich, a man who is put deep in the center of the earth to explore what mankind has to offer from so long ago.

There are many people who will immediately take to Little Orpheus and be able to go through it flawlessly. However, there are other people who may not be the best at platformers, and therefore will need some beginner tips.

7 Timing Is Everything

Due to being a platformer game, a large - if not main - part of learning how to play Little Orpheus is learning how to time moves. This does not just apply to jumping, but everything else, such as climbing, swinging, and so on and so forth.

Luckily, a player who learns the timing of their jumps and other actions will be able to get really far within the game. Learning how to time moves is going to be extremely important, especially in a platformer game such as Little Orpheus. There are always going to be moments when a player jumps too early, misses, and falls.

6 Get Familiar With Jumping

Although a player will also be running and climbing throughout their playthrough of Little Orpheus, the main activity that will be done is jumping, and lots of it. That is one of the main experiences of playing a platformer game, after all.

Even though there is a lot for a player to get used to, it is not like the game is going to be particularly punishing for them. There are save points just about everywhere in the game, so a player's trial and error will not be too painful.

5 Wear Headphones While Playing

It is widely considered to be one of the best parts of the game and greatly enhances the gameplay experience while wandering through the colorful areas of Little Orpheus while climbing and jumping to see everything that is to be offered.

Many players would recommend wearing headphones while playing Little Orpheus to fully enjoy the experience. It is something that can make gameplay much more enjoyable, as the music lends to a fan's enjoyment of the story.

4 The Sound Design Is Actually Important

There is more reason to wear headphones while playing Little Orpheus than for the story. One of the main parts of the game is the sound design, which does aid gameplay in more ways than enhancing the experience.

For example, one thing that can save a player is hearing minor audio cues that they may not even realize are part of the game before it is too late. If a player hears something rolling, it would be a good idea to start running and get out of the way before a boulder comes crashing down on them.

3 Take In The Scenery

The scenery of Little Orpheus is absolutely beautiful for many players and is really something that someone should stop and enjoy while going through the game. The game is described as technicolor, which means all sorts of neons are blended together into a pretty swirl for players.

While the scenery is gorgeous for many players, that does not mean that is the only thing that the graphics are for. A player who stops every now and then to take in the scenery might be able to find all sorts of hidden secrets and paths to go through.

2 Get Used To The Controls

The controls of Little Orpheus are not really something that a player will be struggling too much with, but it is still worth it to get used to it. If the controls feel natural in the player's hand, it will make it much easier to go through the platforming in the game.

Luckily, a player will not have a lot of buttons to get used to while playing through Little Orpheus. They will just have to learn how to jump, run around, climb, and so on. Once the nature of the controls feels second nature, a player will flourish.

1 Enjoy The Story

Of course, the most important tip for a player of Little Orpheus is to enjoy the story. It is a story-driven platformer, after all, so the dialogue and world-building are put as one of the highest priorities for a player to enjoy.

The game will have lots of tidbits for a player to take in at any point ever. Even without actively searching for lore, though, the story that is immediately presented to a player should be more than enough to keep them entertained while playing.

Little Orpheus is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Windows, and macOS.
