Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio unveils that the eighth mainline game in the Like a Dragon series is getting new title in the West, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, along with a brand-new teaser trailer. This teaser trailer was shown off during the Xbox Games Show, where a number of new games from Sega were revealed, such as Persona 3 Reload and Metaphor: ReFantazio. One game that confused but interested a lot of people was Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, where fans believed it was a teaser trailer for a new spin-off in the series, when in actuality it was Like a Dragon 8, just now under a new subtitle in the West.Like a Dragon 8 was first announced last year during the RGG Summit 2022 event, where it showed off both a returning Kazuma Kiryu and Ichiban Kasuga, along with two other spin-offs: Like a Dragon Gaiden and the Like a Dragon Ishin! Remake. The remake released earlier in 2023, with Summer Game Fest revealing a new trailer for Gaiden that confirmed its launch will be this November. This new teaser trailer for Infinite Wealth re-affirms its release window, along with giving fans a teaser of what to expect.RELATED: Prominent VTuber Star Kson Will Be a Hostess in Like a Dragon 8 This trailer for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth starts with Ichiban Kasuga washed ashore a crowded beach. Although it is very obvious that he is naked, he himself is amusingly oblivious to his own nudity. The area he is in is very unfamiliar to him, until he startles a nearby beach goer, shrieking that he is a streaker, with a number of the other locals laughing at his current situation. It takes until a couple is able to bring to his attention that he doesn't have any clothes on that he properly panics. The Japanese trailer retains its original "Like a Dragon 8" title.

The setting of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth caught many fans' attention, where Ichiban is unable to understand anyone that's talking to him, and the first character to speak is a blonde woman in perfect English, alongside a number of other English-speaking locals. Based on that alone, it seems that Ichiban has ended up in America, and based on the environment and foliage, it's likely that he ended up in the state of Hawaii. As theorized by one fan, this setting is likely because Hawaii and Japan have strong economic and cultural ties, similar to how Persona 5 featured a vacation in the Western state.

Aside from this teaser trailer, the official website for the game also went live, where some additional screenshots can be spotted. The first consists of the party of Ichiban, Nanba, and Adachi, while the second one shows the lovable protagonist hanging out with Kazuma Kiryu. With the RGG Summit 2023 around the corner, fans should expect more information about both Gaiden and Infinite Wealth to be present at the event.

Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth will release on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S in early 2024.
