Until May 17, 2022, Epic Games is bringing back Star Wars content to Fortnite. To celebrate May the 4th (a day all about Star Wars), Lightsabers will be available to find on the battle royale island and new Star Wars-themed quests, Stormtroopers, and more.
For Fortnite players that would like to complete the batch of May the 4th quests and take advantage of the unvaulted content, getting hold of one of Star Wars' iconic Lightsabers should be the first thing to do. There are four color variations for the Lightsaber, each named after a Star Wars character:
- Luke Skywalker's Lightsaber - Green
- Kylo Ren's Lightsaber - Red
- Mace Windu's Lightsaber - Purple
- Obi-Wan's Lightsaber - Blue
How to Get a Lightsaber in Fortnite
Lightsabers can be found in Fortnite Season 2 as Floor Loot and inside of chests. To have the best chance of finding one, look in areas with lots of loot, such as the named points of interest like Tilted Towers. Each type of Lightsaber will have a glowing yellow aura around it, making it a tad bit easier to spot.
How to Use a Lightsaber in Fortnite
Once players pick up the Lightsaber, it will take up one of the inventory slots like any other weapon. Use the right trigger to pull off a powerful melee combo and the left trigger to block. While blocking with the saber, it'll negate most damage from shots coming head-on. However, don't expect it to stop incoming attacks from the sides or the back.
Fortnite May the 4th Star Wars Quests
As soon as Fortnite players acquire a Lightsaber, they can use it to complete some quests for May the 4th efficiently. First, find some opponents to fight with and then block ten hits with the Lightsaber. And as long as players carry the Lightsaber while surviving a storm phase, that's another quest that can be checked off the to-do list.
As for the other quests, players can f ind the E-11 Blaster Rifle by trading their Gold Bars at one of the Stromtrooper Checkpoints around the map. The gun can also be found in chests and as floor loot. Speak to one of the Stormtroopers to take on a bounty, and then complete it to wrap up another quest.
- Damage Opponents within 30 meters using the E-11 Blaster Rifle
- Complete a bounty from a Stormtrooper
- Drive a vehicle from Chonker's Speedway or Logjam Lumberyard to a Stormtrooper Checkpoint
- Land at a Stormtrooper Checkpoint, then place top 25
- Block hits using a Lightsaber
- Survive a storm phase while carrying a Lightsaber
Fortnite is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
