In Chapter 3 of Life is Strange: Double Exposure, the mystery of who killed Safi only gets more confusing, and everyone is keeping secrets (as is par for the course for a Life is Strange game). Lucas, a Professor of Literature at Caledon, is one of these people — and he seems to be hiding some important information that Max needs to solve the case.

After some time running between Gwen, Vinh, and the different dimensions, Max finds that Lucas may finally have the answers she needs about a student who used to know Safi. However, getting those answers isn't straightforward even when you come face-to-face with him, so you're going to need to do some more dimension hopping and investigating.

Life Is Strange: Double Exposure attempts to continue Max Caufield's story in a bold way, but it often fails at being narratively competent.

How To Find Information On Maya In Double Exposure

Maya Okada was a student from Caledon, and Safi's friend, who unfortunately passed away before Max got to the university, which you'll find out by speaking with Gwen. Right now, it seems that Maya could have something to do with the strange happenings around campus, though, so it's up to Max to find out exactly what's going on. As previously mentioned, she'll get directions to speak to Lucas by talking to Gwen, Vinh, and Yasmin.

The initial conversation with Lucas will be informed by the choices you made previously (whether you decided to warn Safi about the restraining order), but the outcome will be the same. Once the conversation ends, he won't have been much help, and Max will need to search his office.

First things first, since he's inside his office in the Living World, you'll need to go to the nearest Shift point and go to the Dead World. Once you're there, go back to his office, where he's out for the entire day. There are quite a few items in here that you can inspect for some comments from Max and a little bit more lore on Lucas. Before you do anything else, check out the f iling cabinet below the painting.

When you inspect the documents inside, you'll find confirmation that Safi, Vinh, and Maya were all students who studied with Lucas. You'll also find that Lucas had a particular affinity for Maya — and Max will comment that she hopes it's not the same situation as what happened with Mr. Jefferson at Blackwell Academy from the first Life is Strange.

When you're done, head toward Lucas' desk and find the family photo on it, right next to his computer. Inspect the photo, and turn it around until you can see the underside where a key has been taped. Grab the key and head toward the golden typewriter, which is sitting between the bookcases on the opposite side of the room. The key opens a secret compartment in the typewriter, and Max finds a hidden manuscript written by Maya.

That's not the end, though, because she'll immediately recognize the writing — which, by all accounts, shouldn't be possible. Putting two and two together, Max will look for a copy of Lucas' book and confirm that he stole Maya's ideas for his own gain. Take a snapshot of the two manuscripts together, and you've successfully completed this questline in Life is Strange: Double Exposure.
