Square Enix has revealed the contents of the Final Fantasy 7 outfit pack that will be available in Life is Strange: Double Exposure. The Final Fantasy 7 costume pack is available as part of the Ultimate Edition for Life is Strange: Double Exposure, and will be available at launch for any who pre-purchase it.
Much like its predecessor True Colors, Life is Strange: Double Exposure will be launched soon after its initial announcement. Following its reveal at the Xbox Games Showcase in June, Life is Strange: Double Exposure was announced to be launching later this year, bringing the series back to its roots by reinstating Max Caulfield as the main character. Set 10 years after the events of the first Life is Strange title, Double Exposure follows Max as she attends university, doing her best to live what appears to be a normal life. One day, however, she finds her best friend murdered and, in an attempt to save her life through time travel, Max accidentally opens a portal to a parallel timeline.

As reported by Gematsu, the contents of the Final Fantasy 7 costume pack for Life is Strange have been revealed in a series of new screenshots. The pack unlocks various outfits depicting iconic creatures from the Final Fantasy franchise, including a Moogle coat and hat, a Cactuar sweater, and three t-shirts depicting a Bomb, a Tonberry, and a Chocobo. Preordering the Ultimate Edition will give players access to these outfits, as well as four other outfit packs and access to Life is Strange: Double Exposure two weeks early.

Despite this reveal, many fans remain unhappy with the Ultimate Edition. For $30 more than the base game price, players get access to five costume packs, any future DLC, and access to the first two chapters of the game two weeks early. Not only are fans questioning whether this price tag is worth it for what is mostly cosmetics, but many fans are also worried about spoilers for Life is Strange: Double Exposure being circulated by players who gain access to the game two weeks early. A branching narrative game, Life is Strange titles always have a very heavy emphasis on story, so the risk of spoilers has many fans unable to purchase the Ultimate Edition nervous.
Life is Strange: Double Exposure sits in an awkward position among fans. Those who were happy with the ending of the first Life is Strange title are unsure what can be gained by retreading old ground, whereas those who disliked the game are dubious about bringing back old characters. Deck Nine has promised it will respect both endings of the first Life is Strange, but only time will tell if the game's narrative and gameplay will be enough to satisfy fans.
