With the release of the Overture DLC, fans get to dive deeper into the incredible lore, and learn more about what happened before the events of the base game. It is important to note, however, that starting the new Lies of P DLC has some important requirements, which may not be readily apparent to some players. In this guide, we'll walk you through the steps, and show you how to begin the new Overture DLC in Lies of P.

How to Start the Overture Expansion in Lies of P

Story Progression Required:

While many players will be eager to jump into the new content that comes with the Overture DLC, there are certain steps you'll need to take before getting started. Unfortunately for new players, Overture has considerable progression requirements that you'll need to meet before jumping in. This means that you will not be able to simply start a new game and access the new content.

In order to begin the Overture expansion, you'll need to reach the end of Chapter 9. This is the point in the game when the Krat Hotel is attacked, and many of the items inside the building are completely destroyed. As soon as you repair the Stargazer in the center of the main chamber, you'll receive a notice that you can now begin the DLC.

If you've already completed the game, and have not started New Game Plus, you should receive the item that allows you to begin Overture – called the Star's Chrysalis – as soon as you log into the game.

How to Use the Star's Chrysalis in Lies of P

Once you've obtained the Star's Chrysalis, you'll simply need to visit any Stargazer. You should see a new quest notification by the "Teleport to Another Stargazer" option . Look under the Chapter 5 Stargazer list, and you'll see the quest notification under the Path of the Pilgrim location. Travel to this location with the Star's Chrysalis in your inventory.

Once you arrive at the Path of the Pilgrim Stargazer, a cutscene will automatically begin. P will take out the Star's Chrysalis, which will lead to a trail of butterflies forming. Follow the trail to the old Stargazer that was covered in ivy. An Overture DLC popup will show up on screen. Check the prompt, and give confirmation that you want to start the DLC.

Another cutscene will begin, and you will be sent to the snowy first region in the Forgotten Time. This marks the official start of Lies of P's new Overture DLC.
